It's really starting to bug me. What the hell is up with these dudes in the majority of porn flicks? They can ruin any scene. I was watching a scene the other day with Kelsey Michaels. If you don't remember her, she was gorgeous, eager, cock hungry. She was her usual chipper, bubbly, horny self going into the scene. The picture quality was pretty good. Everything was great until the dude appeared. She did her best trying to blow him but everything he did was anything and everything between mediocre and annoying. I thought it was pretty clear. It has nothing at all to do with not wanting to see the male talent. It has more to do with wanting the males to have talent. It seems like all it takes is for the guy to be male. If he has a dick, it'll do. Even if it doesn't get hard. Look at it this way. You take a girl like Kelsey Michaels. I believe the really good male performers are undirectable, in a good way. The robots show up for work and do everything the director could ask for. Get hard, stay hard, keep body parts out of the way of the lens, open up, whatever, but they're so preoccupied with this checklist of things to do, they forget they're actually fucking, or don't care. The really good performers play to their partner. They're still cognizant of the camera, but manage to inject some real juice into their scenes by really fucking the woman. I could recite a laundry list of guys who should have remained mopes, and should never be the lead in any scene, yet have been handed the keys to the kingdom out of a need for more product, but only a handful of elite male performers.
I have seen the hunger of the mopes, like starved dogs in a Von's parking lot ... I think the main culprits are the mid-level guys. The top end talent and the 200/scene guys have the lust, usually. ^ I was talking about the mid level guys. You know they all started as cannon fodder in blow bang scenes, and most should have stayed there. But there's so much work that they get elevated to one on ones in all kinds of productions from lame to first class, and many of them have been handed a camera and a budget and decided they would be in most of the scenes.
As gay as it may sound, if you like watching chicks get thoroughly aroused and have hot sex, the guys are the single most important part of a scene. A chick isn't going to turn in a great, hot scene with a dude who is: a) not attarctive to her, b) not into her, c) is lame as a partner. Porn needs many more dudes that the girls really want to fuck. Not being able to keep a boner is a problem, sure. But, that's the only thing that should keep a guy out of movies. Not perefectly allowing the camera a shot of everything or whatever else should be nearly irrelevant.
That's true. But, of course, that just further shows that it's mostly crappy or mediocre guys they deal with. I think if there was a larger number of guys that the girls were hyped about-AND the directors knew how to make everything comfortable and hot and not be invasive-the girls would be into it very much most every time.
Invasive director are the larger problem. Director direct the heat out of a scene in their zeal to keep the action open to the camera. There isn't room on the set for lust. Never a moment when the participant are allowed to fuck.
Dave Hardman is probably my favorite. I saw him in so many scenes in the 1990s that he is an icon. I recall mentioning him in a discussion about male performers a few years back and you seemed rather non-plussed. Perhaps you have come round in your appreciation for good old Dave. He is still laying the pipe in 2008, for Lethal Hardcore, I believe. He seems like a guy that a lot of people (like myself) can relate to. He has been in more porn movies than anybody but Tom Byron, according to IAFD.

I'd say they are the best male talent, but I wouldn't know they were in your movies based on the box covers. I work in a porn store. I have customers (particularly women) asking me for porn recommendations every day. I know which male stars get the best chemistry from their scene partners, but I don't have a database in my head all their titles. I could tell a female customer to browse the shelves and "look for these guys," if their names were listed on the box. The only way I know a particular guy is in a movie is if I run to the computer and look it up on the internet. I could lose a sale by taking the time to do that. These are impulse buys; my customers will move on to another part of the store, and buy a vibrator instead of a porno if I don't deliver information and product quickly. Wake up, people. There's money to be made here. I've been saying this for 3 years. Get with the program. I like a lot of Elegant Angel stuff, particularly Mason's and your stuff.
