Second, XHamster eliminates downloading, no notification or reason given.
Third, ebay says they are closing their adult-only items section, over 730,000 listings.
Fourth, OnlyFans says no more posting of sexually explicit content. (OF has roughly 1.5 million creators.)
This all relates to credit-card companies trying to look good and be safe affiliating with "quality" merchants only.
Might this trend continue to where we will need crypto to buy any porn whatsoever on the Internet?

Not a fan of OnlyFans but the reasons it is banning porn are not very good and evoke suspicion whether there are lobbies that influenced their decision.

Porn, while seemingly having a lot of freedoms the past couple of decades, is always under assault. Don't get too complacent about your favorite kink being readily available. The industry may at some point have to go underground. There will always be forces at work trying to limit or perhaps destroy the adult industry. Frankly, I'm surprised that they haven't passed a law stating that performers must be at least 21 years of age. If they could do it for cigarettes, why not porn?

The industry kinda asks for this, tbh. Alot of the time the industry doesn't want to appear to be above board. Industry members don't show solidarity or quickness in shutting down the producers/agents/companies that are bad actors. Many pornsites do not have any way to even pretend to check if a minor is accessing; not even a "you should be 18 to enter, if not, go away" message. Like 90% of the promoted content is teenager or incest bullshit.
The industry needs to clean itself up in the midst of this while pushing for legalization and regulation.
Bring on 21-year-old performer age limit. Lobby the government for anti-piracy enforcement to protect the value of the work. Cut out the stuff that tries to look like CP or parents fucking their own sons and daughters.
The goal should be to clean everything up then and put in strict regulations and taxes and then let the performers do their jobs.
Making the argument to the government and the public at large that porn is legit will be tough, but it starts with the industry taking on a more solid, professional image.
The industry, and fans, have to be able to say, "look, there is no underhanded shit happening here, anywhere. Leave us the hell alone."

A very reasonable course of action.
I had not even thought about the fact that a number of adult DVD sites do not ask if you are 18 or older.
The site excaliburfilms has the 18+ button, but on the same page you can click "Adult DVDs" and bypass it.
1. They're competitors in an "alternative industry". Why would they show solidarity with one another. Less competitors means more money for the stronger companies.
2. Pushing for legalization/regulation? Porn is already legal.
3. 18 is fine. No politician is going to make any sort of "pro porn" comments as part of their campaign platform. I don't need you or anyone else to tell me what porn themes I should be able to watch.
4. What will be considered "cleaned up" and who will determine the level of clean? As far as regulations are concerned, who is asking for them? The cost of productions will jump to include the regulators.
Then what are those regulations going to be?
Guy/girl ratio? Cumshot placement being banned from faces and mouths and have to be eliminated completely? Cock size in proportion to the size of the girl? No "squirting?" Double and triple anal? Lots of people think anal is unnatural in and upon itself, so that could be eliminated also. What about I/R or no more Dredd with a 5' tall, 95 lb, girl?
Regarding taxes? Huh? Who will be paying them? The performers? The pink elephant in the room is the fact that underage individuals can and do freely access porn...They tend to know more about computers and cell phones than their parents...Most parental controls are not so tough to circumnavigate...Placing an ARE YOU 18 OF AGE OR OLDER notice does fuck all...Even the tightest of controls will occasionally return adult content via bing & google searches...

I know little about politics, but this new setup makes the Democrats now look like UltraConservatives.
It's being led by exodus cry, a movement with links to ultra conservative religious groups. I don't have a dog in the fight but trying to paint the Republicans as the 'pro sex work' party is erm a reach to say the least.
I've absolutely no sympathy for Pornhub. They profited off of rape videos and revenge porn for a number of years and made it extremely difficult for the victims to get the content taken down. Sadly the religious right has used Pornhub and various other tube sites criminal levels of neglect as a foothold to launch an attack on the entire industry. That's to say nothing of how their exploitative business practices undermined consensual performers.
Some of the victims who turned to movements like Traffickinghub in good faith at a time the porn industry was ignoring them now feel somewhat used. Only allowing content from verified users is something that was long overdue, but it's now too little and too late.
The first two are easy to address because both are porn content uploading platforms that were profiting from stolen material. Xvideos and a slew of similar platforms are also in trouble for the same reason. The fact that anyone and I mean anyone(In case I'm not clear I'm talking very young kids) with a computer and access to the internet can watch they entire library of adult content doesn't endear them with anyone.
In the case of Ebay. I think it's more the reality that physical media porn is dead/dying and anything they allow for sell on their platform may no longer be in the best of shape or even playable so the number of complaints must be through the roof. VHS degrades over time a lot faster that dvd's but even dvd's degrade. Who wants to be responsible for all the back and forth of offering a product that is more than likely unplayable and in the case of VHS/Beta. May no longer have a machine to play that medium.
OF troubles are the same troubles any adult content producer would face if her/she was cavalier with the rules governing the production of adult content. Basically the people that own OF didn't give a shit when it comes to make sure that the content they allowed to be uploaded on their lucrative platform met all the requirements that all similar content does on the other platforms. IE proper documentation.

You are correct, lex. They had, as you say, toys, magazines, also posters, autographed photos. I even once bought some slides of the model Melisande (Sophie Strauss) from her Suze Randall shoot of about 15-20 years ago. Slides are actually very high resolution, being formed by molecular reactions and comparable to newer digital resolutions.

Let's get a few things straight right here and right now: two things built the internet as we know it - pornography and military application(no-one is going to get rid of either of those), if you honestly believe the war on porn can be won - just consider how well the war on drugs and at one point alcohol went(a futile exercise that does nothing but fill jail cells with poor people and minorities costing taxpayers billions), yes the internet facilitates having a seedy corner for sick interests and I'm not defending that BUT as long as someone has the money to pay - that will always persist sadly. For those whining about how you can bypass age verification; there is NO system that is 100% effective at stopping people from gaining access to what they want whether it's teenagers seeking porn or the next underage mass shooter finding a way to get his hands on a rifle or shotgun. Driving porn underground won't clean it up as you say and you would have to talk to the actual people IN THE INDUSTRY to begin to understand how many legit operations there are vs how many shady ones there are. You can't get the truth from the propaganda that both sides love to pump out.

I am not sure who you are asking to get real, me the OP, or those speaking in the italicized article, but this post was about a Porn Purge related to credit card companies wanting to affiliate with only uncontroversial merchants. Not sure how you feel the post is about free speech, as opposed to limiting our porn viewing and purchasing options. You are right that OnlyFans has reversed (actually the favored OF term is "suspended") the policy change for now. Still, there have been major changes at a few major sites over the past several months that have resulted in throwing out the baby with the bathwater. I am just pointing out this new trend and wondering if it will continue.
If there is purging that seems to be occurring it seems to be happening with sites that have user generated content. Professional sites dont seem to be having this issue.

To be able to drive a car when 16 would be seen as completely crazy. That means: there is no truth in those numbers, those are just arbitrary thresholds tied to a supposed maturity of the person, but as those differences show there's not a correct answer. Even because in reality there are people who are in their fifties and are frail and not mature and young persons who know who they are and they have a good head above their shoulders to decide of their life.

Its not an age thing for me its more related to the need for prior as in six months prior preparation education & due diligence...This "job" is more life changing & dangerous than most + its harder to be successful (like 6 figs 2005 status) then perhaps music sports or mainstream...I feel most young women can simply not be bothered and they blindly rush in expecting fun parties wealth fame and get used abused until they are learned...and under a five year contract with an agency they hate or are brainwashed by...
