I dream of you, sweet Stoya.
I dream being able fall asleep embraced to you.
I have 1000 kisses in my pocket
that I want to present to you.
You're sweet like this candy among my teeth
and you're white like this sheet of paper in front of me.
I have written "Stoya I love you" upon it,
and folded it into a card airplane,
placed a perfumed rose inside,
now I throw it toward the ocean
hoping it could land right in your garden.

I was actually avoiding the Stoya thread because of Mr. Excessive Dipshit. But now I can take pleasure viewing this thread again.
Yeah I read about Stoya having quite an excellent educational background. Let's see, "Smart Chicks are so hot" "Goth like Girls are so Hot." So Stoya.....Oh like I even need to say it ;)

Probably not the most important thing others might care about but I'm curious to know which book you are currently reading or which one you plan to read and what if anything are you sewing at the moment?

I'm reading John Crowley's "Little, Big"
As far as sewing, I just finished this bell-shaped skirt made of remnants from a physical therapy hospital that I found at JoMar years ago. I really love the fabric, it looks like it's just a cream and green pattern from far away and when people do notice what it says their reactions are really entertaining. Now I'm screwing around with different bodice designs for a sundress. It'll probably be too cold for the sundress by the time I'm done, but I'm getting lots of practice in drafting my own patterns :)

I'll have to take a look at Little, Big. It's seems like an interesting book.
At least it's fiction and that's always a plus.
I'll assume that the lettering on your skirt is fairly big otherwise people are standing way too close to you. At least it could give people an excuse for staring at you. It's not your body they are looking at but your unusual skirt. If making the sundress takes you into a colder season that makes wearing it less appealing. There is always the possibility of taking it with you and going somewhere that's hotter.

Cool, I heard you like sf, I really liked Engine Summer and The Deep by him, but have yet to tackle Little, Big.

The print is kind of medium-ish.
So descriptive, I know.
Maybe a photo will help:

I'm pretty sure that's the corner of "Little, Big" poking out from under stuff in my bag.

That is an interesting skirt. What is written on it? I tried to zoom in but the script becomes unreadable the bigger I make it.
Yes, that is a copy of Little Big sticking out. I've yet to procur a copy of it but I will. When I first saw that picture. I actually thought someone had taken your picture after you'd passed out or something. I know that sounds weird but I tend to be a little on the weird side.

Totally, I don't want to give anything away but from what I've heard it sounds like a dry run for Little, Big as it is rather dreamlike and circular in structure. I reminds me of Peace by Gene Wolfe, which is kind of hard to find also straddles that really literary, dense sf/fantasy line.

This seems to be them: www.spauldingrehab.org. Your skirt is giving them free advertising. You'll start a trend and soon everyone will want a genuine Stoya Skirt.
I would think you'd look really good in it specially with somekind of Spanish style white blouse that has flower patterns and cowboy boots or those black boots in the photo.

Stoya wrote on POPPORN Q: Why would your close friends ever call you by your stage name?
A: Remember that more standard name I was talking about a couple of questions ago? Yeah, I know about a hundred other girls with the same name. My best friend for years and years had the same first name. It got really confusing, especially since we both had long dark hair (and frequently wore it in pigtails) when we met and then started dying it crazy colors at the same time, made a lot of our clothing ourselves, had very similar interests, and lived together. Nicknames had to happen to make everyone's life easier, so I was already being called Stoya before I started getting naked on the internet and needed a nom de keyboard.
in my area many people have the same first and last name in my sports team we have 7 guys with the same first and last name each family all have different nicknames so that people know who is who the familys are better known by the nicknames than they are by their proper names.
