You could wish that more pornstars when leaving the biz could drop a note to their fans saying "im moving on now" just to let the fans know. It would take so small effort. Instead they just dissapear making me sometimes worrying that something bad happend to them. Probably most of them feels nothing but contemt for their "fans" (for only loving them as sex objects or somthing?) and feel no obligation to inform that they are leaving.
Or it could be that a lot of starlets still dance and don't consider themselves as "retired" even though they aren't filming anymore. That and there are websites they can do but not be filming feature-length flicks in CA which still keep them active.

Sandra Romain definitely retired recently. Annette Schwarz is still active (she's at the Spiegler Girls agency) and I think I heard that Naomi retired. I'm not sure about the other two.
I loved Kelsey too. She was something special to watch. Good luck to whatever she's doing.

JAV lost its two biggest stars this year, Yua Aida and Kaeda Matsushima. That's like having Jenna and Tera quit at the same time. Plus, Sora Aoi all but stopped making them, and she was huge, too. Maria Ozawa would have been a natural choice for the top slot but she seems to have lost her mind, doing rape and abuse movies that usually unattractive women in their 30s get saddled with, not a gorgeous 22 year old. I don't think JAV has a clearly defined top star ATM.

I think you know way more about JAV than me, but I will say that from what I've seen many, many people still love Maria. Hell, I've only recently discovered her. I saw a couple of those other movies you mention. They didn't bother me too much (a little, but not much except the golden shower), but she is so cute that I have to say I enjoyed her S1 movies I've seen much more. She is so cute, I don't really want to see her suffer.

Well since you aren't a regular follower of JAV and the American industry (AVN, etc) doesn't follow JAV, you're a little behind on what's happening. She was an S1 girl for a long time after she went pro (she started doing nude modeling under the name Miyabi). S1 is like Vivid. Prettiest girls, best values, and a little on the cookie cutter side. She was an equal to Yua Aida and Sora Aoi but the knock on her was she was a dead fish in her performances. Her contract with S1 expired last April and she left, and joined Attackers and DAS. Those studios specialize in rape/humiliation/tied down/piss type movies. Generally speaking, they get older and/or less attractive girls. For proof, here's Maria with some of her fellow Attackers "co-workers." Bleh, right? Regular JAV fans who've followed her for a while are really upset at her descent to this because there's no reason for it. She could still be with S1 earning $10k a month or more for 1 movie and not getting pissed on or fake raped. Here are shots of her new movie. You can see how it goes in these films. Imagine Sunny Lane going to work for Rob Black. Yeah, it's like that. If you are into JAV, I recommend ScanLover foum. Just lurk in the Adult Advocacy forums for a while. The admins and regulars are all cool. There's another site I won't mention but the admins are dicks. If you request a title, they ban you for a month. I knew some of that. I knew she had gone to work for DAS and was now doing work for Attackers. Here February title actually interests me (I like the costuming). I also have seen where a lot of people consider her a bit of a dead fish. I didn't think she was that bad, certainly not the greatest performer, but for me it is about 75% how attractive I find them and 25% performance anyway. As long as the performance isn't just bad, I can live with it. I had come to realize that all the DAS stuff was more of the extreme variety (though I hear the Nakadashi and golden shower are all faked). I didn't realize Attackers was this type of company. That pic does seem to prove what you are saying about the other "stars" that are at those companies though. BTW, I know exactly what forum you are referring to. I joined it for more information and the moderators do seem like real dicks. The threads are all don't do this and don't do that. When I was exploring, Sweatpig indicated as much. I think he mentioned the Scan---- forum you did as a young, growing one that was good. Why would she move to this stuff if she seemingly had no need to?

Who knows. She's more than likely a little messed up, growing up half-Japanese and treated badly as a child (as she has said in interviews) and now disowned by her family for doing porn. True, DAS and Attackers fake their piss and creampies, but so what? 'Irreversible' is fake too, and that movie unsettles a lot of people. You just don't wanna see a girl go through that.
I personally like the fact that Maria moved on from S1. She did 17 movies for them in the year and a half she worked there. Her movies were beginning to all look the same. She tried something more hardcore with DAS (I like half of the movies she did there) and by watching her first Attackers movie, it seems like her movies with them will be more story driven. Change is the spice of life...
Lady Jaguar was ok, but the new one (don't have a clue the name) looks good. I may like the S1 stuff so far, because I've only seen 3 of them (Pako Pako Airlines, Pako Pako 6 costumes and my favorite, Let's Have Sex At School).

Well, I haven't seen them all the way through. I just scanned them. I bought copies of 6 of her movies from a website for very cheap. When I said I liked her, I was serious. She is stunningly beautiful. I'm sure I'll explore JAV a bit, but i'm not huge into Asian women. Like every other race, there are many beautiful ones, but I'm really most into Latin women. The industry does look worth exploring though. Risa Kasumi looks quite good actually. My interest in seeing Maria's movies is the strongest of any star since Veronique Vega came out a little over a year ago.
