Is there a film that is considered "so bad it's good" in ways unintended by it's producers? You know, the kind of film that is just hilariously wrong that you can do nothing but laugh. I don't know if it exists, but by golly it should!

There's not one; there are many---far too many. Uh, I'll nominate an awful xxx-western called SWEET SAVAGE from 1978 for starters.

SWEET SAVAGE is somewhat clumsy and slow paced, but it's hardly Ed Wood territory. At least it has a competent script and decent cinematography as well as good production values.
FYI, the 80 min version that's currently floating around is heavily edited. The original theatrical cut ran 98 min.

I have more... many more. My reviews for these duds are up...
Three Cheers for BJU (197?)---Loved the opening with the hooker eating Alpo out of the can.
Flipside (1985)---Thought I would include a Jack Genero piece of crap.
Connie & Floyd (1973)---An incredibly inept xxx-gangster yarn.
The Love Syndrome (1979)---Just an excuse to piece together some old Harry Reems clips.
Blow Hard AKA The Blow Hard (1972)---This thing is pretty hilarious so it's sort of recommended.
Saturday Night Special (197?)---Sadistic little crime yarn that's good for some unintentional laughs.
Foxy Lady's Candid Camera (1985)---German gals with hairy under arms and really, really bad hair. Uglier dudes.
tb---Oh yea, something called Supercharger with some of the same awful effects utilized in Sweet Savage

I'd nominate virtually every recent parody out there...

JL---I have that 80 minute version of Sweet Savage; it's technically fine (as are most of those lame parodies of today) but it's laughable and ridiculous most of the way! (Beth Anna screwing out in the woods in that multiple split screen effect is what's also used in Supercharger)
Any other Sweet Savage defenders out there? In all fairness, it's easy to pick on those other titles that I listed; Sweet Savage aspired to be something more and that's what Ed Wood was all about---aspiring to be something but failing for the most part.
B6---Loved the Batpussy link!

Of course, Bat Pussy is it. What it is, exactly, is up for debate. It's borderline disturbing, also, but you'll be quoting it for the rest of your life.
I will second Blow Hard -- that movie is funny.
And, coincidentally, I was going to watch Sweet Savage today -- I just got it. Now I'm thinking I'll opt for something else.

If I'm gonna pick on an Anne Perry film, I'd choose her headache inducing STAR BABE. It's also on par with most modern parodies (which, IMO, are technically sloppy) and is as dreadful and unfunny as you can get.
Back to SWEET SAVAGE, I'm not as much defending it as a great movie. It's not. It's pretty average. But Perry's seemingly sincere attempt to make a western/melodrama makes up for the dull bits, even if the results are underwhelming.
As for the effect you mentioned, it was extremely popular in the 70s because it could be done in camera on a 'looney lens,' instead of having to pay a lab to do expensive opticals.

I think you might enjoy (or at least appreciate) SWEET SAVAGE, so do check it out some time.
Just bare in mind that there's no uncut DVD out there and that if you're watching the 80 min version, there's 17 min of both sex and plot missing (though you'll still be able to follow the story).

Sweet Savage actually sounds interesting (and hopefully would be watchable in it's truncated form) - I may have to track that one down!
Somebody mentioning Batpussy reminded me of the possible winner of the coveted Gold Turkey of Porn award... the Bigfoot hardcore The Geek

THE GEEK is crap for sure. I'm surprised no one has mentioned any of Wood's own sleep-inducing XXX...
NECROMANIA
THE ONLY HOUSE
YOUNG MARRIEDS - easily the most watchable of the bunch.

Have these two actually been released in their XXX versions? I thought only Necromania had.

ONLY HOUSE is still 'lost,' although Rudolph Grey claims he has a print.
I have YOUNG MARRIEDS on 16mm.

Potentially...Though nothing is confirmed at the moment so I don't wanna post about it and create false hope.

That would be nice. Hopefully they don't start with Necromania like Fleshbot did and then stop.
