Dirty Debs ... uh, whatever ... the babes were Maya Hills and one of Brandon's recent discoveries, and the set up was the same as recent Ed, all condom, and weird soft focus ... He apologizes in a long preamble about the shoddy quaLITY AND HOW he;s a schmuck and forgive him, but come fucking on! Ed's movies have gotten worse as his video gear has improved! He's AMAZING. He's GENIUS. In that awful fucked up Ed Wood way. Stunningly, Ed is editing like it's a weird YouTube video, with sudden fast jumps between mid shot and close up ... totally ruins every scene. Not that there is much to ruin. And the rudimentary DVD menus and authoring leaves little to do but watch the schtick. This is a guy who wants to project a sense of himself as a kindly pornographic pioneer but can;t muster the least enthusiasm for actually lensing a decent POV+ scene. (It's not uncommon for sellers to throw in a couple Leisure Time - like 4 hour comps just for the hell of it). Otherwise, I wouldn't even know that he is still in the business. I'm not even sure that his movies qualify as pornography. The whole interaction just seemed like a weird science experiment where no one in the movie (including Ed) know that their reality has been totally contrived by the experimenter. I didn't stroke to the movie. However, I watched much of it, entertaining myself by being the experimenter. I haven't seen his videos in stores in recent years. I like how a lot of the performers aren't as glammed-up as they are in airbrushed magazine shoots. I like the natural way that many of them act in his films, there's just a different feel compared with most porn. Also, while i haven't watched his stuff in a long time, I think that he's kind of experimenting. While companies like Digital Playground are adding in CGI and higher production values, Ed is headed in the opposite direction. How cheap can he be and still profit? I don't think anyone even pirates his work. Sheer genius. Make your product so 'anti-marketable' that if anyone wants it, they have to go to you. So if you seek out Ed, you know what you're getting.
