I enjoyed it, and I got quite a kick out of the way Cherie's scene got sandwiched into Bella-Marie's and Saphire's scene. It managed to achieve the impression that it wasn't 'directed', but of course it certainly was.

I'd love to watch a Leslie shoot. So much of his stuff looks spontaneous and unpracticed. I'd love to see how much is truly improvisational and how much is just directed to seem that way.

Tricia (and of course Leslie if he ever posted) could probably give a fairly definitive answer to your question.

However, I would be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that it is extremely tightly directed to achieve Leslie's 'vision/image' that he wants to achieve. Leslie, and other EA titles, are among the few out there that almost always open with the credits of "Written, Produced, and Directed by".

But then with the consummate skill that Leslie has, he makes it appear to be spontaneous.

I'm really fascinated by Leslie's style -- he always offers a satisfying mix of class and smut ... and the "voyeur" approach usually means there's more attention to actual filmmaking technique. Even his non-features look like features with a more refined gonzo energy. I really love the way he uses music, and his DVD menu screens are some of the sharpest and wittiest ... I'm assuming that Tricia has a lot to do with that.

The Cassie scene and the segue from Cherie (good here, but not a personal fave) into Bella maria and Sapphire was great ... though that scene itself seemed kind of choppy...

My only complaint about many Leslie titles is that I don't find every scene/girl to be consistently strong. Though with his more feature style titles (like Dog Walker, Fresh meat ... a Ghost Story and Drop Sex ...), the batting average is close to 1.000.

His directing style is a really good mix of setting things up and also letting the cast just do their own thing.

I just got done reading the review and I cannot wait to see this one! Based on your review, as well as Astroknight's, this appears to be another great Evil Angel DVD and a must see. I have really enjoyed Leslie's work to date and this sounds like it will be one of the best yet.
