And it's really starting to annoy me . At first I just ignored this incursion , but it's finally broken me and I must find out how to remove it .

Can anyone think of something that might help , or is this just an update from Microsoft ? If it helps the highlighted option for searching is BlazeFind , so I'm guessing it's a piece of software from whoever they are .

I've SpyBotted , and Adawared , even done a full system Norton AntiVirus and deleted all internet records . But alas to no avail .

Please save me from losing my mind !

Lee O, try Bazzooka. may work, may not. Actually, i know virtually nothing when it comes to tech, but I do know Bazooka has helped me out, once.

I did a Google search on "blazefind"
The second entry looks like a page on their site describing how to remove the toolbar...

REMOVE BLAZEFIND TOOLBAR

Give it a shot

Thanks for the help guys , that 'Google search' sure is a highly technical solution . <hits head> D'oh ! Why the hell didn't it even occur to me ?

Ah well , all better now . So no harm done .

Think I'll hold that Bazooka in reserve though , just in case something really does have a go at my system .

Glad it worked!

Google is amazing for almost anything you need information about. I do programming and systems work and Google has led me to the answers to several tough technical problems.

Lee I feel you pain. I have had that thing before and I know it's annoying. Seems like someone else set you straight before I opened this thread. Anyway glad you got rid of it.

i got one as well
but its called "sideFind"
also when i join here now i get pop ups. even though pop ups should be blocked

so untill recentlly my system has gone haywire :(

/me looks for the thread that talks about Spyware and worms..

the problem with the spy-removal software is that the garbage is already on your computer--i'd focus on making sure you don't get it. hitting on the google topic again-use it to find a bunch of good host files(they're lists of thousands of known/suspected offenders that will now be denied access to anything silently). read the directions on where to put it on your os, then find a few more and you'll find your computer is usually clean. winxp is overly villified(not perfect by any means, but any os is going to look bad if you turn the bad guys' focus towards them), basically disable as imuch stupid stuff it defaults like dcom and most services and group policy or sharing nonsense. basically, bad stuff will be a problem if you're behaving like a server. unless you like random things moving and making noise on pages, disable sounds/videos in ie, and set all of the activex and scripting stuff to disabled, then work backwords to find out the bare minimum you'll need to surf. anything by adobe or macromedia is your enemy, although not more so than ip addresses from the former soviet union.

it varies from person to person how much content can be disabled, i'm probably unusual or a lynx-cantidate, but if i want to see a picture, i'll click on it, otherwise text seems natural for reading stuff like this.

2 easy ways to block stuff premptively are to use the hosts file in spybot, then go take care of active x stuff with spywareblaster, which doesn't ever need to run save for updates. i think it's at wilderssecurity.com or javacoolsoftware.com. free, easy, preventitive.
