Why is this amazing? It is arguably Bjorn's best video -- certainly in his top five -- and, arguably one of the best mainstream gay porn videos ever made -- certainly in the top ten (at lease, IMHO). Plus, every time someone asks for a list of must-have gay porn videos (which happens fairly often), I respond, listing it among a handful of other favorites.
The reason I say amazing is because I can't recall seeing any gay title on either list. To have it pop up at the top got me curious about where all the hits are coming from. Considering that it's not a new review, there must be some other links out there for joeblow69's review.
Thats where the big money is!! Gay porn outsells about any straight title 3 to 1. Why??? Lack of competition. Falcon is definately the top dog in Gay Porn. Of course this is just my opinion.
Overcharge? Well there are reasons titles are sold for 50 dollars per title. Selling gay movies puts you on the top of the religious rights list to shut you down. If the legal fee's didn't exist in the adult business world I'm sure the titles would be less expensive. If 7-11 sold BlueBoy I'm sure there would be massive protests and legal fee's. Look at the flack they get for carrying Playboy. I'm not gay but do enjoy reading The Advocate from time to time.
Sorry, I don't buy that. If you look back at the studios that had to go to court and defend themselves against obscenity charges lately, they've almost all been straight porn studios. I think the religious nutbags are more obsessed with straight porn, since straight porn has a "victim". "Look what they've done to that poor innocent little girl!" they say.
I think Private has shown that you can make high quality gay porn (well, at least porn with high production values and good looking men), sell it for $30, and still make a profit. Gay porn studios don't have to charge $50. They do it for the same reason that music studios still charge $18 for a CD. That's what they've charged in the past, and they know we will pay it.
ANYWAY, back to the topic at hand... This whole Thick as Theives thing sure is weird. Maybe Steph or Drew can comment on how many times a movie has to be price searched to hit the #1 spot, but I suspect it's quite a few. For an old movie like this to rocket up to #1 (and stay there for a couple days) is quite odd.
I still suspect that I helped cause it. I posted a link to ten gay titles, including TAT, saying that it is still my all time favorite after all these years, on another thread here in the gay forum. Plus, I've posted mention of it with a link to it in the ADT search engine in several other places in the past week or so. Plus TAT has four reviews, all of them awarding it near perfect scores. Plus, KB titles in general probably get a lot of attention. Add to that, any title that is near the top of the charts automatically attracts some additional attention. I'm guessing that the combination helped cause it to top the charts.
Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony (again very good, but not great) is #44,
House of Morecock (an obscure gay porn cartoon!) is #50.

That Thick as Thieves might spike to the top surprises me much less than some of these other titles being on the lists. Regardless, I suspect there may be a logic problem or two in some of the analysis programming.
