| darklord Member Sunshine State 126 Posts 4/04 | [url=356684] I just read this on [link removed: No tube sites] Porn Valley- Earlier Saturday morning I wrote: Just as this site was the first to report the beginning of the HIV outbreak earlier this year, late last night I also received disturbing news that a porn actress has Hepatitis C. I want to make clear that this is an unconfirmed report but I got this from a pretty strong source. Coincidentally I saw the woman in question this week. I remember in an interview how she told me she kicked drugs, however she was practically walking into walls. Mid Saturday morning I was able to confirm that it is Tianna Lynn although I already had been given that information Friday night. I spoke to Tim Myren of Naughty Modeling who reps Lynn. Myren who runs the company along with his brother Chris were informed this week by AIM of Lynn's condition. Myren was obviously upset about the situation. According to Myren, it's fact at least from what AIM tells him. "AIM contacted her [Lynn] and then I was there when she had a meeting with Sharon Mitchell." Myren said he doesn't known how Lynn's dealing with the situation but knows what he's doing about it. "My stance on it is I'm not booking her for anything until I know what can be done. And I don't feel good about booking her for anything." When it was suggested that Lynn's condition is pretty much a career ender, Myren said he was given a different feeling from Mitchell. "Sharon said it really wasn't from what I got and I was sort of taken back by that. But being the owner of the company, I just don't feel safe about it. If a company wants to book her, I just tell them she's going through some problems and they have to talk to her. I don't know what she wants said but I don't feel comfortable about it. I'm not going to book her." Myren said he'd hope other people would feel the same way. "That's how I feel. Tianna's a wonderful girl and everything, but as running the company I have to look at it legally. I don't want anything coming back on me. I hope Tianna thinks about it and that she's not out trying to get her own work without telling people. I hope not." According to Myren, Lynn went into AIM earlier this week to have some tests done. "I guess she found out through that. She said she always had a feeling that she may have something. Because she used rugs awhile back. She used to use dirty needles. She even said that to Sharon. And I was like, this is the first time I've heard this. Why wouldn't you check this before? She found it and was with my brother. Then Chris called me and she called me. I went down there for the meeting. That's how it happened. I can't feel comfortble about this. I have to tell companies that call up I can't do anything right now with her. We have to wait and see." If this true, does any of the companies out there have a responsiblity to warn her co-stars of her condition? And shouldn't she just stop working all together for the safety of her co-stars. This is the kind of news that OSHA could use to strengthen it's position about making and everything else mandatory. If was her co-stars, I would go and get tested immediately. When will people put the safety of others beyond their own selfish needs.

| darklord Member Sunshine State 126 Posts 4/04 | Tiana Lynn Interview I call her Friday at 6 p.m. about a report that she has Hepatitis C. Tiana: "I think there are a lot of ignorant people out there who have no idea what they're talking about. They fear things that they do not know. I am not contagious. I carry an antibody that I will get rid of. But I've already grown out of the Hepatitis. It was two years ago. My past drug history. I've already grown out of it. Therefore, I carry no viral load, nor will I ever. All I've got is an antibody that can not be contaminated to another person. "The way everybody handled it. I'm having a hard time dealing with it as it is. It's a mistake that I made when I was young and stupid. Everybody thinks it is a problem for them and they don't even see how it is affecting my life." What happened between you and Tim of Naughty Modeling? "He just decided to stop giving me work. Again, they don't know what it's really about. He wasn't even concerned about his girl was having a hard time dealing with it as it is, let alone to completely change her life. There are a lot of people out there who are supporting me. Sharon [Mitchell]. I can talk to her anytime. I am most likely going to switch to condom-only if people have a problem with it. "A lot of people who are former addicts know about this. They know how you get it and how you don't get it." When did Tim drop you? "He didn't really drop me. Every day I called to see when I was working and all of a sudden, I wasn't working. "This was nobody's business to begin with. If this was something I knew could harm the industry, then obviously I am going to take myself out of it. But I knew it wasn't going to affect anybody else. Then his brother Chris, who helps him with the agency, thought I needed to take some time off. "That's what makes things worse. When you stop your daily routine, that makes things worse. Then all you do is sit around and think about it." Tiana Lynn has been shooting regularly for seven months, appearing in almost 100 movies. She's shooting her own movies. She's shooting her sequel next week to Tiana Lynn's Cum Rain, Cum Shine. The new one will be called Swallow My Squirt. Duke: "Sharon Mitchell doesn't have any problem with you working in the industry because she understands it is not contagious?" Tiana: "Yes. Exactly. If anybody has any questions, they can call her directly and she can explain my case. "This information is confidential and should not have been out in the first place." Sorry Ac, but it's true. So I guess you were wrong' Dark Edited by - darklord on 10/11/2004 3:48:28 AM Edited by - darklord on 10/11/2004 3:50:15 AM |

| dumblonde Senior Member 2352 Posts 7/00 | The Hepatitis C Epidemic Hepatitis C one of the greatest public health threats faced in this century, and possibly one of the greatest threats to be faced in the next century. Many times more people are infected with hepatitis C than HIV. There are at least six viruses known to cause liver disease: hepatitis A, B, C, D, E, and G, which vary in their severity and characteristics. Hepatitis C can lead to serious, permanent liver damage, and in many cases, death. The Hepatitis C (HCV) virus was identified in 1989. Unlike the other types of viral hepatitis, hepatitis C is very difficult for the immune system to overcome. As a result, most Hepatitis C infections (80-90%) become chronic and lead to liver disease, including cirrhosis (scarring of the liver tissues) and liver failure. Hepatitis C infection is typically mild in its early stages, and it is rarely recognized until it has caused significant damage to the liver. The cycle of disease from infection to significant liver damage can take 20 years or more. Almost any direct or indirect exposure to infected blood can transmit the virus. This includes I.V. drug use and poorly sterilized medical instruments, blood spills, unbandaged cuts or injuries, and tattooing or body piercing, as well as less obvious sources of blood, such as shared razors or toothbrushes, or body secretions (such as mucous) that may contain small amounts of blood. In about 10% of all cases, no risk factors have been identified. Heterosexual and homosexual activity, particularly with multiple partners and in the absence of protective measures, can transmit the virus. Close contact between household members has also been implicated. The symptoms of Hepatitis C are often very mild, at least in the early stages of infection and can be virtually undetectable. There is no vaccine for Hepatitis C at present, and because of the virus's frequent mutation, it may be a long time before one becomes available. However, because of Hepatitis C's slowly progressive infection, infected patients have long life expectancies, and with proper treatment, many of them can recover completely. |

If Tianna or AIM comes out saying she is contagious I will change my opinion, but not before then. I think people like spreading a smear campaign rather than getting the true details. C. Especially if the interview from Luke is legit. Or at least for us to be concerned about the whole situation. Just because it's not HIV doesn't mean you're still okay to work!!! In serious cases like this regardless if its true or rumor... the situation should be considered (taken seriously) guilty until proven innocent of facts. -GEN PADOVA- Edited by - generizer on 10/11/2004 5:26:23 AM |

If she clears that process hopefully, I'll be the first person to shoot her. Don't believe everything you hear until it's been absolutely validated. |

Hepatitis C concerns people of all ages, genders and social states. Hepatitis C is only transmitted by blood to blood contact . btw latest researches lead to the conclusion that smoking (nicotin) Hepatitis C is fully curable if recognized early! |

| Ren Galskap Deactivated User 35 Posts 9/04 | Short and sweet, a lucky minority of people infected with HCV (hepatitis C virus) have only a short term infection. They get the infection, the body produces antibodies, the body destroys all of the virus, but the antibodies remain. If Lynn no longer has the virus, then she's still testing positive on the antibody test, but she would be negative on a PCR test. CDC says that a single negative PCR isn't enough to establish that the infection is gone. If the HCV level in the blood is low enough, the PCR won't pick it up. CDC says that you need at least two negative PCRs. CDC generally tries to err on the side of caution. It may be that doctors experienced with HCV have gotten good results with one PCR. I don't know. If you have questions about this, talk to AIM or your doctor. AIM advertises only the HCV anti-body test on their website. If they are willing to certify that Lynn is no longer infected, then they must have arranged for a PCR. Canadian government researchers say that when one member of a monogamous couple has HCV, the odds of the other member becoming infected if they continue having sex over a 20 year period are about 2.5%. The odds of getting HCV from working with someone a few times are very low. On the other hand, untreated hepatitis C can destroy your liver and kill you. Dr. Steven York, AIM's medical director, has a simple hepatitis test here that you can do at home. If you are concerned, AIM is advertising the anti-HCV test for about $35 on their web site. Bottom line: Tiana Lynn's story makes sense. It is possible to have the HCV antibodies but be free of the virus. Under those conditions, AIM is under no obligation to release anyone's private medical records. They may want to think about putting up a page on their website explaining how they determine whether a person has HCV. But that's just a suggestion. Again, if you're concerned about HCV infection, you can test yourself for hepatitis or you can get the HCV anti-body test at AIM very cheaply. HAV and HBV are much bigger risks for porn performers than HCV. AIM will vaccinate you against both for $150. Have fun and stay healthy, |

I think anyone who reads ALL of the articles about this situation especially ALL the stuff at lukeisback.com can see something isn't right about how this agent has handled this situation. I know Melissa Lauren, Gen Padova, & Wankus hear any type of disease and rightfully so they get tunnel vision not seeing how shady it appears this agent is acting. We all know AIM is a little sluggish and seems not to have the ability to use common sense, but it's been too long for them not to have said something if she had something contagious. It really appears to be a bitter agent to me. That's just me, AC Cream |

I said "Rightfully so". Meaning I totally understand and respect that you are concerned. I just don't think it's right to want to blacklist her just because of this rumor spread by a shady acting agent. She said she would be condom only until everything is clear and you at the same time can refuse to work with somebody who worked with her. I know that may cost you some work, but I don't think it's cool to stop her from working at all just so you don't lose a couple jobs. I would be saying these same things in respect of you if you were the female in this situation, so don't take my comments personally. AC Cream |

You have nothing to be sorry about. I totally respect you worrying, but until things are clear Blacklisting her doesn't seem very fair. What if you were in a similar situation Melissa and somebody you trust who knows your personal stuff like that you have a blood disease that 100% can't be transmitted during sex. Then you have a personal split with this person and they go to Gene Ross to smear you. Wouldn't you want people to see your side of the issue? I would think so, AC Cream |
| melissalauren Melissa Lauren 834 Posts 2/04 |
I didn t say to blacklist her. I don t hink an agent would act like what you said. I wish someone from Aim would let the industry insiders know exactly what she was tested positive for, and make a statement : can she work or not? Sadly, things arent like that. |

| oatmeal Meat Popsicle Seeking Beauty 1738 Posts 8/04 | Getting up on a soap box on an adult oriented message board does the problem no good. I doubt the right people (the policy makers) are reading the ranting messages of misinformation posted here amongst the pleas for "more gapes and a2m." Industry insiders that have problems with the process should be taking these issues to the players by calling them directly. I urge them to do so for their safety and the safety of those following in your footsteps. In thinking about this matter I can see an urgent need for a strong centralized organization and total industry participation. For the safety of the people. Isn't AIM the central organization that controls testing, results and the distribution of results? Is it not effective or controlled enough? Is there a central database listing every worker's previous test results and previous partners (both on-screen and off-screen contacts with industry workers) available to agents, producers, medical staff and industry workers 24 hours a day? Can working with the California government help fix this or are they looking to impose too many restrictions on the industry? |

I hope for Tianna's sake AIM will do something. It seems like(after reading the lukeisback.com stuff) she isn't handling all the industry pressure from the agent rumor very well. AC Cream |

The smearing is coming from the agent. Gene Ross just puts up what people tell him, but if people check lukeisback.com they can see how to get all sides of an issue instead of just 1 side. Getting ALL the sides and details is how you really become INFORMED. AC Cream Edited by - AC Cream on 10/12/2004 10:42:13 AM |

You might be shocked how much Talent or just Fans can get started in these "more gag & a2m" Message Forums/Boards. Though I strongly agree with you something needs so be done about the testing systems. I think AIM does well with the testing part. I think they just fail in the PR and information sharing side. I think this topic be much better handled at one of the Adult conventions in a serious industry-only meeting.
I'm sure the people in the know could care less what I think. I know if I was on the other side I'd prefer not hearing one-armed typists' "expert" opinions unless I asked for them. That being said, perhaps a thread should be created so a few insiders can accurately inform us on how things work now (talent, agents, producers, health officials, etc) |
| skronker Notable Legendary Icon Scopophiliac 9780 Posts 9/02 | Besides, we are deep in rumor territory here. Why not wait and see what comes of it? Melissa puts her ass on the line every day, which gives her thoughts a good deal more weight. I have to agree with her about that. Anyway, let's hope Tianna isn't in a bad situation here, and that all resolves soon. |
