I added a new tab to the user profile area a few minutes ago. This tab provides two primary features: 1) a list of the 100 post recent topics you have posted in with new posts/not new indicators. and 2) a new way to manage thread subscrptions.

The new thread subscription system allows you to activate/deactivate or delete individual thread subscriptions. You can also choose daily or semi-real time updates. The daily update option will send out a single email sometime overnight (TBD) with a complete list of all subscribed threads with new posts. The non-daily option will send out emails every 15 minutes or so, not sure yet how frequently they will be sent.

Feel free to play with the stuff and let me see if you see any problems.

edited to make current.

couldn't you do this before? (i never used it)

or was that just if you started the thread?

it sounds nifty, but i recheck all the threads i posted in every time i sign in anyway.

Yes, but in a very clunky fashion and it required you to post to a thread.
This will make it easier for you to check those threads. They will all be listed on one quick-reference list accessible in your profile. It's a lot easier than using the search feature to try to find your posts in various topics.

I have shut off the old system and imported everyone's existing thread subscriptions into their profile page.

Some members had email notifications going on on many hundreds of topics. The oldest threads were dropped. The new system only allows for subscribing to 100 topics. The 100 most recent subscribed topics were retained.

If you have previously subscribed to topics check your profile. (Click the profile link above, then the Topics tab.)

The new topic subscription system is running now. You should start receiving emails for new posts made in the topics you have subscribed to. Emails are sent out every 10 minutes.

That's actually how I noticed it (the feature).

I see "Subscribe to Topic" appearing at the top and bottom of pages now.

I like that one.
Thank you.

I don't necessarily stop by daily, and I seem to remember doing a 'fly-by' a couple days there too - so I could have easily overlooked it.
Thanks, though.

Since you're discussing profile tabs in this thread I'll post my question here...
Is the "display name" feature operational? I can't seem to change mine.

It's only functional in the profile area. It doesn't affect forum posts.
