Hey guys. Are there currently any Blu-ray movies currently that can display at 1080p resolution? The only ones that I've seen are Cockasian 1&3, Jenna Haze Darkside, and Lex the Impaler 3 so far and all of these are in 1080i except for the menus which are in 1080p. While these titles look great, I'm still wondering if there are some titles that look better than these, preferably gonzo, that are worth checking out.

I don't think you will see a difference in 1080i vs 1080p. As long as your player is capable of deinterlacing correctly it is the same thing.
I don't know why all porn Blu-rays seem to be 1080i though. Probably cheaper to do it that way.

Yeah the German ones are 1080i too. Doesn't say anything about the picture quality though. So far only some Vivid ones managed to disappoint me in that regard (not surprisingly).

AFAIK, the HDTV standard only allows 1080i...your Bluray player or the TV are deinterlacing to get you the p...

The Magma Blu-rays are ALL 1080P not just the menus, but the actual features are in 1080p. I double and triple checked my HDMI TV display and it isn't 1080i, it definitely is 1080p.
Magma Blu-rays have excellent image quality.

Checking your TV display won't help you because what you see on there has already been deinterlaced. If you wanna know for sure you need to watch it on a PC for example. I've only seen "Porn Hard Art" and that one is definitely 1080i. So I would be very surprised if the other ones from Magma were 1080p!

You can see a difference between i/p content during slow-mo and when pausing scenes. For general playback though a difference is hard to make out. But that said--I tend to slow-mo and pause porn scenes. So I won't be buying any blu-ray until it can display 1080p.

Correction, you are right there first releases like Porn Hard 1 and 2 are 1080i, BUT the last three, Elegance-X, Dirty Affairs of the State, and Annina Ucatis: Superstar are 1080P.

Well to be fair Magma seems to be one of the few if not the only German company that has evolved over the years. I only remember their old movies which used to be pretty be bad imo. Porn Hard Art does look pretty nice though. At least they have pretty girls and good production values nowadays.

Well, I think Magma is only going to release their premium titles like Elegance-X on Blu-ray for the time being. These productions usually have the same type of calibre as Private in its heyday from the late 1990s and early 2000s.
As for the Alexis Texas movie, it's in 1080i.

ok, I forgot about 24p. So yes, you can get 1080p, but it's only 24 frames/sec.

Thank you Comet Man. Yes, the reason many pornos are on Blu-ray in 1080i instead of 1080p is because they have been shot on HD video at 30fps instead of 24 fps.
So the studios transfer these to Blu-ray at 1080i/60fps, which is essentially "as good as" 1080p/24fps.
You're still getting the best available transfer of the source material.
