I see several people passing along good wishes to those who might be infected with HIV. And frankly the hypocrisy bothers me. Because it doesn't affect most of you who post.
My birthday is September 11th. Every time I show my ID it's met with the response of what a horrible tragedy that was for America. Was it a tragedy for you? Did YOU send someone to work that day only to have them never to return again? Likely not. Did YOU go to NY and help with the relief and rescue efforts? I'm guessing not. So how exactly was it a tragedy for you other than interrupting football season for a week? Everyone was patriotic for a few weeks, but where were the flags before and where are they now? I'm happy to report NY'ers have resumed, hating/ mugging/ killing each other so all is back to normal.

Same with HIV outbreak. Other than disrupting porn production for 2 months, how is this a tragedy for you? Are you going to help Darren James buy AZT? I doubt very seriously if most people in the industry have insurance. Are you going to go out and raise awareness regarding HIV? Will you spend the 2-11 billion dollars this year on research for an HIV vaccine instead of buying new gangbang movies?

If there is a massive outbreak, where will help come from? Not the industry. Despite the fact this board is very industry friendly and the moderators cozy up to industry professionals to keep them posting here, the truth remains that many performers do so to support drug habits and a fair percentage have been to prison. Of course there are exceptions. I'm sure this will draw the ire of the moderators and likely cause this threat and/ or me to be locked or removed. But most many of these folks you wouldn't trust with your Grandmother's purse or pain meds. So how can they be expected to take care of their own?

Leslie Glass gave most everything she had to various animal charities. she even owned a veterinary clinic. Before she died, she did several interviews talking about how she'd never seen a dime of help from all the industry fund raisers in her name.

Although I'm a pervert and love the finished product, someone screwing on tape doesn't merit me holding them up as a cultural icon. I like the job my gardener does but I wouldn't fly to Vegas and pay to have a picture of me taken sitting on his lap at a trade show.

So my question is, if you truely hold these people up as icons, what do you intend to do in a proactive manner? Will you help Darren James or Tricia Devereauz buy AZT? What about Laura Roxx, will you even remember her in a year?Will you donate your time to young people infected? Will you start an awareness program in your community? Or will you just simply sit here and post on a message board about how sorry you are and how tragic it is? Does this really affect your life? If it does, what are you doing to make a positive difference? If it doesn't and you aren't, save the crocodile tears. Because the worst kind of hypocrite is the one who doesn't realize he is a hypocrite.
