Hi - further to reading post from someone in UK who posted in May re customs opening their packages. Has anyone from UK had any experience with this type of thing happening recently? Cheers.

Hi and welcome to ADT,i've had i think maybe one package inspected and forwarded on in the last 6 months...nothing major.Although i have had 2 discs not arrive at all from the u.s(which were successfully replaced by the supplier-adultdvdpacific)and also had 8(out of an order for 12)discs never arrive from europe from erodvd.nl(who i no longer deal with after this)...always hard to tell wether customs are to blame for discs not arriving but on these 2 occasions i put it down to the postal system(with pacific) and poor customer service in the case of erodvd..overall,given the amount of discs i purchase no major problems...hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply and welcome. Do Adultdvdpacific ship with or without cases?
In case you're interested I've ordered quite a bit previously from Adultdvdtoday who have always provided an excellent service. Never any problems. I haven't ordered for over a year now though and after scanning topics posted over that period I was beginning to wonder whether UK customs had decided to clampdown on US mail for porn, or whether these were temporary blips. Sir Wankalot (major US buyer) had what looks like his first delivery opened this year; someone else another in May; someone else Moviesbymail order opened this year. Can't remember seeing posts re opened US mail in previous years.....
Anyway, I've got 5 orders on the way from different suppliers at the mo so, not with XMas withstanding, I'll update with results in due course.

I don't think there's any clampdown...just a blip every now and then i think(unless anyone else know's different).Yes adultdvdpacific ship with cases and always sealed(they are also only too pleased to replace discs if faulty or they go missing),thanks for letting me know about adultdvdtoday but i've always been happy with pacific and find them overall to be the cheapest around(their not the quickest at getting new titles listed on the site however but that's not a major problem for me),i order on average 3 or 4 discs a week from them and have done for the last few years without any of them being opened by customs, hope your orders go as smoothly look forward to hearing all your discs have come through un-scathed..Cheers

I've used adultdvdtoday for the last 3 years, ordering at different times of the year. Never had a problem, so I guess it's the luck of the draw as to whether your package is opened or not. I tend to keep the size of the order down though, to about 4-5 discs (no cases, obviously).
Oh, and I tend to avoid ordering during Christmas. Royal Mail are bad at the best of times...

My experience suggests that the Global Priority (or now International Priority) mail shipping without cases is much more likely to go under the radar. Adultdvdtoday and X-Rent are among the stores using this method, though I note with interest that adultdvdpacific are prepared to replace discs which go missing. That's a big plus point.
General rule of thumb: keep order volume low and never order more than you're comfortable with losing. It's a fact of life that things DO go missing.

I have the impression that quite a few UK mailmen have built a nice porn collection over the years...

What with my 5 orders I must be a glutton for punishment me I went through the Christmas argy bargy last year waiting absolutely ages for Xmas orders to turn up. Maybe that's why I haven't ordered for the last year or so?

Now there's a reassuring thought for you
If only it were possible for all suppliers to send their stuff from within the UK by recorded delivery like you Jacco

Thanks for the advice Gabriel Nine. As a matter of interest, have any of your US orders from adultdvdtoday or xrent been opened this year? Xrent customer services told me a while back that a few of their UK orders had been intercepted (one of mine is currently on the way from them).
First order came through today from adultdvdnow Another reliable supplier in my experience, albeit a bit limited as I've only ever placed about 5 orders with them. Cheers to adultdvdnow anyway if they read these pages.

It takes a bit of work, but it is possible for everyone, it's more a question of willingness to spend the time and money on it.

...and here we are, some time later. Hope you got your goodies OK, Rollo.
I did receive my order OK, in great time too, not interfered with in any way, which is more than can be said for the participants of the movies contained therein!
Basically, apart from 1 lost order a few years back (which the merchant concerned replaced, even though against their general policy) I have had no problems with items sent via Global Priority, either through loss or customs interference. In actual fact, the only items I've ever had opened up (and I think this is a common experience) were those from Erodvd in the Netherlands. I don't order from them any more.
I think Jacco is spot on there - most of the real problem is in the UK. And not just with Customs either. I've had stuff sent Special Delivery in the UK which has disappeared without trace, and that's meant to be a next-day, trackable, signed-for service. On courier orders, I've had items take 1 day to cross the entire USA and Atlantic Ocean, only to take 3 days to make it to my home from a depot 30 miles away. I've even had delivery drivers leave expensive electrical hardware in my front porch in full view of the street and make out like someone signed for it.
Oh, did we hit a raw nerve there? Think so!
Anyway, merry Christmas all and hope you enjoy your movies.

Oh i am glad it's not just me then...Parcelfarce left my 300 pound disc repair machine in someone elses porch half a mile down the road a few weeks back and signed for it!...i wasn't impressed...luckily i knocked on 13 peoples doors to find it...brill innit.Anyway it's good to hear your stuff's arrived...out of interest how did adultdvd69 value the goods Gabriel,i was thinking of doing a test order to see what they're like. Also has anyone used adultdvdbestdeal as they seem to have excellent prices?...Cheers and Merry Christmas to all those people i've dealt with on here and also to those i haven't...to one and all!!!!!!

Still waiting on my Xrent order! Adultdvd69 and adultviduniverse orders came through fine. Bit bewildered by later though. Full value marked on customs label ($69 odd) but no tax to pay. Not even stamped. Maybe they're a bit busy with all the Xmas stuff from abroad. Not complaining mind

I want to say from own experience, UK customs is not friendly to indecent or obscene DVD's which contain pissing, fisting, extrem sex, scat, animal and have no attention to the typical sex. If your order was seized by custom, you will receive a notice from them and can contest it in court (i think nobody do it). If you is not receive order and this notice from custom, it mean follow: Your DVD's was not shipped or was lost in delivery (maybe stolen by post or custom worker).
I want to say also that UK customs check all big parcel and confiscate indecent or obscene goods, alcohol, tobacco, medicaments, narcotics, but almost do not check small letters...

Hey Rollo, good to hear you got the goods, but I can only put that poor shipping time down to the volume of mail pre Christmas - or just bad luck this time.

Just out of interest, I've had very variable shipping times to the UK via Global Priority lately - a couple of weeks on one lot, then 5 days (meaning they arrived before the earlier order!), then 10 days the next time.
