What do people on here, stars and otherwise think of some of the censoreship to certain titles by the Britsh Board of Film Classification, in the UK?
Some titles that have had trouble with UK censors, include:
The Fashionistas - cut by over 25 minutes due to face smothering and degradation / slapping / gagging etc
Weapons of Ass Destruction #2 - cut by over 3 minutes for gagging / degredation and urolagnia (urination)
...and Pretty much everyhting directed by Nacho Vidal or Skeeter Kerkove.
UK censores seem to have similar moral codes to Los Angeles, cutting scenes of fisting / urination (even squirting) and general abuse towards women, even if it is faked.
I stopped buying them partly because of the censorship, starting with The Fashionistas. I find its really inconsistent anyway. I cannot see how sqirting is so bad. They dont beleive that women can ejaculate. They just see it as pissing on people.
One video I know had insertion of a riding crop cut out as it is appearenly dangerous (even though its in other videos), yet things like JackAss are fine. Then theres any mention of underage sex or sexual development cut out.
Actually I love the British censorship! It is good for my job security. (For the people who don't understand: Your Choice was started in reaction to British censorship, almost 20 years ago, the owners basically said: "Fuck the censors, we move overseas", and the rest is history)
Won't it be nice when DVDs are suitably indexed, and we will be able to tick a few boxes and the same DVD will have the features that will get all of us off regardless of our different tastes?
Like I won't tick choking, anal or ordering the girls around, and other people will.

Violence, fakes or not, doesnt belong in porno movies. Sick people will get the idea that its okay to do that sort of thing "because its in the movies". Stupid, yes. Reality, yes. Fair, maybe not.

That would rule out violence in mainstream films aswell then?

No. It's proven that violence when linked to sexualy stimulating material can create problems in men mentally. If violence sexualy excites a man, what will stop him from rape?
What utter and complete bollocks - I see a tarantiono film and someone shoots someone else in the face - do I come away thinking that's OK ? Of course not - most of us can distinguish between make believe and the real world.

I think the rating/censorship is inconsistent. There is a short watersports scene (girl pissing in guy's mouth) in Viv Thomas' Sex Wives and Videotape yet it is rated R18, go figure...
I never buy from this country, the prices are ridiculous (online). But yeah, the UK has some lame censorship issues. When will they realise we don't need babysitters to look out for us.
I do agree that the cuts made to R18 movies are heavy handed. But lets praise the BBFC for having the nuts to create the new hardcore R18 in the first place. They managed to sneak it in without too much fuss from the government or Daily Mail.
I remember to well the 1984 video recording act when they banned the so called video nasties and deprived me from watching Pretty Peaches and BabyFace.
You can keep an independent check on the BBFC by going to this excellent site .. Melon Farmers
im glad we have the BBFc to scensor things. some thigs need restricting. i just wish the rest of the world would realise when we sensor things it doesnt make it soft.
in some respects we shoot harder stuff than in the US. ie; i watched a mason film with ashley moore and was told they could only shoot the bar stool insertion scene soft. well i shot a tennis racket insertion on Tuys R Ass hard and got it thru BBFC.
i agree with stefank60 tho. there are more and more mainstream films feauring graphic sexual acts etc that are apparently OK for viewers to watch. yet porn has historically been based on fantasy. most people can distinguish between the 2. unlike Jackass that is a complete reality show.
As far as the BBFc are concerned, in my opinion and experience they seem to be alittle set to what is morally right knowing all the facts (which is not relevant to he film) ie; knowing how and who produced the film. for example i have got away with shooting school uniforms hand cuffs tennis rackets etc because i am a girl (and would never dream of demeaning females cos i am one) and i also appeared in alot of these scenes - how can the performer be under duress when she is also the producer!!!! when other producers are constantly hounded by the BBFc for being too obscene and also men at that matter!
To be honest, the DVD available in the UK suit my needs, with one exception - I love sseing men pissing on women. I found that European Erotique have a great range of 666 DVDs in stock - not too pricey either.
