Porn stars are generally much nicer than regular movie stars. And more honest and real. And funnier.

I disagree 100%. This is totally off topic. But nothing ticks me off more than this assumption about the "genius" acting abilities of mainstream actors.

An actor or actress makes a few films, becomes a celebrity and then with very few deviations gives essential the SAME performance in every subsequent film. In my opinion, if you think otherwise you're severely deluded.

I'll give you two actors and two actresses. Jack Nicholson. Al Pacino. Julia Roberts. Devinn Lane. That's three hacks and an actress with some talent.

Every performance Nicolson, Pacino and Roberts give is exactly the same. Nicolson? "Batman?" Comic book "Jack." "The Departed?" Brutal, sexist, racist "Jack." "About Schmidt." Old, depressed, reflective "Jack." They are all the same bullsh*t performances.

Same with Pacino. "The Devil's Advocate." "Scent of a Woman." WOO-HA! Who cares? Roberts. JULIA ROBERTS? You've got be kidding me. "Erin Brockovich" was a great acting performance?!?!?!

They don't inhabit or shade their performances. Julia Roberts just reads her lines as Julia Roberts. I'm sick of it.

Devinn Lane, for example. She demonstrates completely different characterizations in "About A Woman", "Breathless", "Kink", "Tuff Chick", "Lover's Lane" and "Sex on Film." Are they huge/"Lawerence of Arabia" dramatic roles? Maybe not. But at least they are different.

I'm sorry. I'm just sick of seeing the exact same forty to fifty actors in every single major studio release giving the exact same performance.

I think most popular adult film actors and actresses are better at the craft of acting than most popular mainstream actors and actresses. I know that sounds crazy. I just do. Male talent is included.

Who would you rather watch and who do you think would give a better performance in an acting monologue? Randy Spears or Jack Nicholson?

OK Brian...Yer delusional dude

You obviously never saw Chinatown or One Flew over The Cuckoos Nest or even The Shining

You also apparently missed The Godfather movies...OK 3 was bad Scarface and Serpico

As for Julia Roberts...agreed on that one

As for Devinn Lane...she is one of the coolest chicks I have met this year...I adore her but would I call her an accomplished actress...not by any stretch

Randy Spears can act if you don't cast him as anyone other than Randy Spears, which is about the most you can say for anyone in porn.

That's how I feel about DeNiro, Nicholson, Pacino, Pitt, Cruise, Jim Carrey, etc. And I've seen Chinatown, The Godfather films, Serpico, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and many others. I'm not impressed.

No, but you do sound pretty picky. Anyone so critical should always try the work themselves.

Anybody can push film through the camera, anyone can edit film. The hard thing is to appear in front of the camera and be interesting. You're either interesting or you're not. I don't think anyone can "learn" to be interesting in front of a camera. That's the part of filmmaking that is a mystery.

+1, because whether or not someone is interesting to watch, not the genre they choose to work in, seems the only real dividing line between good and bad.
