Recently I tried Videobox.com which gives you all you can watch / download for $9.95 per month. I am blown away by this site.
-Anyone else try this?
-Can the industry survive on this pricing / business model? It seems tat if the industry were to move to "all you can" eat pricing as the primary model it would put more downward pressure on price, quality, and features.
Yea, I'm currently a member of that site. No doubt, it's a great bargain. Not only is it cheap, but navigation around the site is a breeze (no confusing upsell links), scenes can be downloaded with one click, great video quality, wide range of niche's to choose from, and the average downloaded scene plays for about 20 minutes. Oh, and the pornstars aren't too bad either.
However, I am disappointed in the lack of selections in the mature and BBW niches.
I also currently have memberships to explicite.com, kickass.com, allrealitypass.com, the cumfiesta.com group of sites, and upperclassvideo.com. I am not sure if I would put Videobox.com in the "best bang for the buck" category with other factors considered, but it would be close.
I'm very tempted to signup at pixandvideo.com. They have a large selection of unique models from Hungary and the Czech Republic that look outstanding.
Are the other sites you mentioned in the $10 per month all you can download zone? And do you think this type of pricing encourages low quality vids? Which site is the best bang for your buck in your opinion?
Nah, they are not in the $9.95 per month range. Here is a price breakdown for 'ya:
All Reality Pass was $29.98, KickAss.com was $19.95, UpperClassVideo.com was $19.95, explicite.com was $29.95, the cumfiesta.com group of sites was $24.95, and oops, forgot to mention I'm also a member of ChubbyLoving.com and that was $29.95.
Forget ChubbyLoving and UpperClassVideo. UpperClassVideo has just 17 videos. I was interested in the ChubbyLoving "exclusive" video offerings, however, there are only 9 of them and the rest of the videos are DVD scene downloadable, similar to VideoBox. Nothing special there.
Now "Best Bang" for the buck is subjective. I'm factoring in variables such as variety of video selection, the quality of videos, amount of videos, monthly price, site navigation, and ease of downloading. Example: How many clicks does it take to download the whole video.
The cumfiesta.com group of sites easily beats all sites above that I'm currently subscribed to and definitely gives VideoBox a run for the money, IMHO. Probably has 3 times the amount of videos as VideoBox, and I like the variety of the models better. These girls are more of the "amateur" type, and I prefer that. Don't let that fool you though, they are VERY entertaining :)
No I don't. Because their success depends on long term recurring memberships. That means they must provide videos at decent quality. They also must provide a variety to keep members interested. But I think at the low monthly price, they will keep members for a much longer time than say a $39.95 paysite, and will probably make more money in the long haul.
For example, I was a member of AllAccessAdult.com last month. Cost me $39.95. It was a joke. Members area loaded bigtime with upsells and confusing links. I also use a fresh unique email address for every adult site I join. AllAccessAdult.com either spammed it or sold it to adult spammers. I cancelled and will never signup again. .
VideoBox has made more money off of me because of the low monthly price and their honesty. As long as they keep it up, I'll continue to be a member. I'll continue to look for good bargains, but I don't mind paying a bit more for variety.
I don't know much about the above company, but VOD is certainly a great option if you have broadband. If you don't have broadband however, then DVD rental by mail with a company like WantedList.com would be a better option. Renting DVDs online can also supplement a VOD membership - the idea being that you'll get full length movies with much better picture quality than you might with most VOD sources. So, you could download movies from some of the companies listed here for everyday viewing, and have high quality DVDs shipped to you as well for those special titles that have to be seen at full resolution. WantedList.com has a free trial, so you can test the idea of having both VOD and DVD rentals with low risk.
OK, this may be a stupid question. But, why would I want to have a reoccurring charge of say $10.00 per month for my Gay DVDs when I can purchase the DVDs the same DVDs I like for anywhere from $10-$40? I than am able to watch them as much as I want to, trade them with friends or even sell them and recoup my cost.
Well for $10 last month, I was able to download the equivalent of about 50 dvd's to my computer that I can watch whenever I want to as well. I can also burn them to DVD if I want to, but we just bought a new DVD player that accepts just about all file types so we don't even have to worry about burning dvd's to watch porn in our bedroom anymore.
I also got to pick and choose my favorite scenes and pornstars. So there are no junk scenes. Just my favorites.
I would say that is quite a bargain for $10, wouldn't you say? The recurring charge can be cancelled at anytime.
