Im having problems with the first dvds from Anabolic-Diabolic, they are now unreadables from any dvd player, i have a friend with the same problem, any of you guys have the same problem?
While I've had issues with the content/quality of Ana/Dia DVDs, I must say that their DVD mastering and post-production seems to consistently produce quality disks. I don't think I've ever had a problem with one of their DVDs not playing.
I mean first to number 1 to 6 or 8 in all the series (bring Um Young, Assman,Initiations, etc), the dvds with 4.7 gb and double face. Now i have 2 guys more with the same problem, im checking all my collection and i have now 8 disc with this problem 2 was factory sealed never played before. im thinking now in the time of life of a Dvd movie. Pd. i dont speak english so well.
Your English is good enough. Yes, many of the early discs had big compatibility problems. A few RLD's had the same issues (same factory). One random thread from the past. I miss Steve K., btw.
When i buy this discs (year 2000) theyre working fine, now are useless , im making a backup copy from all my Anabolic-Diabolic collection now, i think this discs only have a 4 year life time.
Have the same problem with 'Straight to the A'. Played fine when I bought it, now it's useless. Makin backups is not so easy cause most of them are double-layered discs with more then 4.4GB!
DVD_Freak. Go to CompUSA and ask to see the Panasonic DMR DVD recorders. You can choose the exact timer recording up to 6 hours on your DVD blank. Ask also how to copy over copy guard.
Hmm - yes, I just tried my only Anabolic disc - Nice Rack 6 - and it won't play at all in my PC or DVD player. And this just after discovering my Evil Angel discs are unreadable too!
Damn these DVD media... it's quite worrying that the lifetime of these things is so short, and that a slight manufacturing fault means they are completely unusable just a few years after being made. Who knows how long my other DVDs will last?
From the sound it's faulty material holding the layers together. If I remember correctly Image had the same problem back in 1997 with their first discs. It doesn't mean that every disc you have is going to degrade in 5 years. Going even further back in memory, if it isn't completely failing me, the first run CDs also had faulty material holding the disc together and failed, yet after the problem was fixed, CDs seem to last forever.
I have recently had trouble playing Diabolic's Lewd Conduct #4 (2000). The first 30mins or so in my DVD-ROM is stop-start and completely unwatchable. The software player reports over a hundred 'media errors'. It plays better on my Sony standalone player but by no means perfectly.
Here is a surface scan I performed:
Considering I bought it only 5 months ago (when it played OK) it is very annoying. I am not sure the retailer will replace a disc bought that long ago. Is it worth contacting the studio for a replacement?
I am happy to report the retailer accepted my return and is now sending me a new replacement . Credit where credit's due: a round of applause goes to adultdvdnow.com !
