I've been putting my movies into DVD Profiler but have several that are just the disk without the cover. I know I can just add it without the code but I would like to have as much info there as possible. Thanks. RT [Link] |

I tried it out on an old 486, but of the porn titles I entered, it only knew approx. 1 in 5, and they had lots of erroneous info. If it had run under Linux, I'd have bought a license and entered all my porn movies. [Link] |

Drew, I can't see any reason why I would need them more than once. However for speed of input I doubt if there is a faster way to compile your own catalog. I was able to input about 500 (mainstream) movies into my list in a little less than three hours. That includes many trips to the living room to grab a new stack of movies to input. Kperv, of the porn movies my results were the opposite of yours, I was getting 80%+ with the upc code. Then again mine were a lot of older titles from bigger companies (Vivid, Wicked, Caballero, Adam & Eve, etc). I think that I only have less than 10 that I need to track down. Bill  All-Star Member 5334 Posts 6/00 | Posted - Jan 19 2006 : 10:34PM I was told that some companies don't bother putting a UPC on the disc and that some companies that do, put the same UPC barcode on every disc they sell. As far as DVD Profiler is concerned, they've never had a problem with porn. But I think that they rely on the first person with a disc to input the data and cover info. Then subsequent owners of that disc can utilize that info. When I looked at it a few years ago, there were very few porn titles listed. [Link] |

I entered an A&E title or two of my own, and fixed up a couple of the badly entered ones, before I couldn't take that clunky GUI interface anymore and how unstable it was on that old 486. Still, given its extensive mainstream database it's still the king of those applications. [Link] |
