B Skow: Whats happening with Nikki Jayne got any new movies planned? She mentioned on an interview that she has this soccerteam gangbang fantasy. I know I am not alone in wanting this scene to be furfilled. Would be even more great if the guys in the team could wear wigan athletics jerseys (Nikkis hometown and my favourite team). Great setup would be that the guys are sitting in the hottub celebrating that they managed to avoid regelation yet another time and the owner steps in the room with nikki dressed in a match jersey and cheerleader skirt on his arm saying that she is the promised bonus for the team. It would be even greater if the guys could be cast soccerplayers slender and tall maybe some bigger guys but still atletic. Bob, I agree with you. I just came out of a meeting and I got them to add a button on the DVD that lets you skip all commercials and go directly to the menu. I am told the first DVD with this will be Brand new Faces 21.

^^^ Dearest Savoy, Based on the two Raylene scenes I've watched so far, I think you'll like the B Skow-helmed "Raylene's Dirty Work". There's no plot, but it's a very well done wall-to-waller with visual flair and sex that somehow seems more "real" than what you typically see in porn.

Making the commercials skip-able is an obvious move. The next one should be to recognize that the movie, and any bonus scenes, BTS, or other content affiliated with the movie, should get to take up as much space on the DVD as they need to, and commercials are only added if there is unused space. If I understood the discussion in the thread about the Raylene movie correctly, one of Raylene's scenes had to be encoded at a lower rate just to fit it on the disc. If accommodating commercials was a factor in that at all, that's just an insult to your customers; it's the same stupid mentality as chopping up the old movies to fit them on shorter tapes to save two cents or whatever.
The commercials take up almost no space at all. It has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the DVD. If I included the 7th scene with the rest, I would have had to compress all 7 scenes at the lower quality rate. The way I made the DVD you get the best quality on the scenes I thought were the best and at the same time an extra scene as well. I'm not trying to insult anyone. Well I for one, most certainly enjoy the longer sex scenes that you shoot. It's a much welcome change far as I'm concerned. I figure it these women enjoy sex as much as they claim, the extra sex should hopefully be more welcomed. Just curious if your style met some initial resistence from TPTB from Vivid? Other than Paul Thomas occasionally, they were generally known for short sex scenes and films with short running lengths, I assume to please cable television.
Very sad news. Excluding some titles released by Vivid.Alt, I dont liked Vivids release of the last 3 years, I only rented/bought Lannys movies. I even bought the Vivid Calendar, because she was the "Miss January". I just cant get in touch with almost all of the current "Vivid" and "Wicked" Stars. I know I'm a little late to the party with this one...but I just watched Strip Tease. Simply put: I really liked it. In fact: I liked the whole idea of it. Start the women off on her own...let us enjoy her sexuality and her body...then bring in the dude, but keep the focus on the gal. It was really well done, well shot, well directed. I liked how the sex didn't seem formulated, switching from oral to fucking, a little more oral, different positions. The best thing I can say about it is the fast forward button was hardly pressed. It didn't hurt either that Meggan Mallone was so hot in the film. Maybe it was the new boobs but she really seems to eager to tease and then please in her two scenes. She also seemed to be NOT acting. I, as a viewer, got lost to the fact that it was a movie, instead my eyes bathed in the voyeuristic artistry of a women lost in the thrones of passion. Yes, it was that good!

I just watched "Suck It" on Blu-Ray. From the outset I must confess that if Meggan Mallone painted her house, I would pay $50 to watch it. She was gorgeous in this film, and her scenes were all expertly filmed with plenty of great tease and masturbation sequences. I even enjoyed the three dude blow-bang, and I usually can't stand those - I could even overlook the misleading cover that said "Meggan's First Four-Man Blow-Bang" (the fourth guy must have had a very tiny dick, 'cause I didn't see it). I can thoroughly recommend this movie for Meggan Mallone fans and any fan of classy, well-shot, gonzo.

I thank you guys for giving your honest opinions, we are trying very hard to make great stuff, and this proves it. B Skow has taken over as Executive Producer for Vivid. He is the man who will makes sure nothing sub par gets out.
One thing I really liked about one of your movies Heaven was that you guys used 3 of my favourite male porn actors. Tommy Gunn, Herschel Savage and Tom Byron. These guys are brilliant if you ask me, I especially loved Hillary Scott's scene with Herschel Savage really hardcore and dirty. Paul Thomas doesn't do a half bad job directing. This may be going back a bit but Key Party was a kickass movie Vivid did.

Ok I'll bite. As much as I praise some movies by Vivid..... I hope ViVid hasn't gone totally gone Gonzo....would be nice to have some story lines, as well as the hot sex. The last six movies posted on the vivid website after Hanna's House (which rocked BTW)...were sub-par pornos at best. For example: What was up with "Content?". Take 50 bucks and hit the truck-stops and come up with 5 or so called women willing to Porn for ten bucks. Please....PLEASE. This Is Vivid. Don't forget that. Don't post crap -- just to post a movie. "Content" might also have the worst movie, sleeve cover ever. Not a hot chick to be found...also, try Googling "Content"...You're right It;s a stupid name. I have to agree somewhat with Deputy Duffy here: Seeing Woody's recent comment earlier today that features as we knew them from Vivid are apparently a thing of the past is a disheartening thing to read. That's really the stuff I enjoy from the company and hate to see it go to the wayside. LOL as for his comments on Content? LOL its a Eon McKai movie. That explains itself.
Woody also commented that Vivid would *not* stop making features - which is it? God, I hope it's the former. Oh, and I watched The Pinch, and I loved it - although, the sex scenes were way too long. That's not a criticism - it's just personal preference, and I actually think it's a good thing that Vivid has different directors with different styles - I get the sense that longer sex scenes is a B Skow trademark, from reading this thread, and I'm cool with that. I was impressed with the gutsy storyline/visuals (even if it didn't *quite* make sense when coupled with the sex scenes...:)) Anyway, yes, do not stop making features!!!!

Let me clear some things up. Vivid is still making features. Vivid will always be making features. That is who Vivid is. We are just adding gonzo sex to the features. Or harder style sex to the features. B Skow is working on a big Vivid feature right now that will blow everyones socks off. We are not getting away from who we are, we are just making better movies everyday. We can't appeal to everyone, but we can appeal to the masses. Women, men, couples can all enjoy our movies. We are not trying to become anyone else, we are the leader in this industry, have been for a longtime. We, as everyone does, evolves. I personally think we are moving in a very positive direction.
Finally some one gets it... I keep getting good reviews on this move wile I keep trying to explain that it's just "Content" ;) content revew? deputyduffy to be fair I'm using you as an example. Content is a comment on where the biz is going and the sex is quite good. Fleshbot.com talks about content I'm still shooting features here is a link to my next one So yea it's just Content so I don't see what the big deal is ;)
totally agree with you. Meggan is very hot in this movie and her scene with Hannah and the lollipops is just fantastic. My dream now would be Meggan and Sunny doing another guy (not Ariel king) and finishing in a nice double facial.

Well not everyone agrees with that, although I personally am not one of them. Some feel your simply starting to make all-sex films masking as features. Now I do like a good or great story, set-up. or scenario, but in the end, I watch porn to watch people fuck and suck, which is something I don't feel most feature directors get or understand. I think Paul Thomas mixes story and sex well at times, as did the now gone Chi Chi Larue. Those kind of films can tend to be hit or miss with me sometimes though. Sometimes the story simply isn't that good, the girls aren't hot enough, or the sex isn't hot or often enough. Now I would probably prefer just a little more story from B at times, but all in all, I generally like what he's doing. Can't say I've liked every sex scene he's directed, but I've been able to really enjoy most of what he's done. And visually I think he gets it too! Edited by - aplus on 8/26/2009 2:55:10 PM
I'm a fan of Eon's work also. As a photographer and an artist I really appreciate what he does and I'm glad we have him at Vivid. I also love Kim Kane and her scene with Mr. Pete in Content is incredible. As far as what Howard was talking about above, Vivid is definitely going to continue making great features as well as just sex movies and I promise that the movies will be constantly good. I am going to be working hard to make sure we put out interesting story lines mixed with the type of sex and camera work fans are looking for.

This I can work with! I always thought the idea that because it was a feature movie the sex scenes had to be shorter by definition was a silly rule. Ramp up the sex to the already great features then. I stand very corrected.
