That nom is supposed to be for girls who were actively working and doing good/interesting work all year but have generally been less noticed than the girls who get nominated for Performer of the Year. The guy's been around for as long as I've been buying and watching porn. I like him, he seems like a nice enough guy, never out of line with a co-star, and early in his career, he displayed that rare ability to fade into the background of a scene and really allow the male viewer to project into him, to become him vicariously. At the same time, he was so physically dominating -and intimidating- that you could count on him giving the viewer a marathon of a scene, that his partner would be inspired by his ability and would step up her own game. Lex had the ability to draw the best from the women he worked with, and that cannot be discounted. Lately, though, age has had its way with him. Physically, he's unable to put in the types of performances he used to, and that certainly detracts from a scene. His head seems to be in the right place, and his equipment is still impressive, but his body isn't what it once was, and instead of fading away his mounting deficiencies are only more apparent. For some women, he's almost like a box to be checked off, not someone to bring your "A" game for but just another stick to hop on. I think that's what draws so many starlets to him for their first IR scenes; he's big, and he has a great history, but he's not as...ferocious...as he once was. Maybe that makes him more approachable. Lex used to be my porn hero. Five or six years ago, when he was in a big time scene like a star's first IR, I would sit up and pay attention. Now I lean back and wonder, will the giant's feet prove themselves solid one more time, or will they finally reveal their cracks, leading to a collapse? As far as this pairing goes, I think Siri was great, and Lex was okay. There was nothing unexpected, all the usual suspects as far as positions were performed and checked off, the pop was okay, and the scene was well shot from a technical standpoint. What was missing was real heat. Lex from five years ago would have brought it. Lex now just can't, and that hurts the scene. Think about Lex and Gianna, from 2006 or 2007 in one of the Lex the Impaler entries. Lex was able to pick her up and standing missionary her. G was big, like Siri is. Certainly not fat, far from it, but just a whole lotta' girl, and yet he was able to not only physically match but exceed her in a way that most any male watching that scene wished he could do. When you see Siri, you want to see her paired up with a guy that is sized to match her, not just in the equipment but physically. That's what we were expecting. That's not what we got. [Link] |

I find the movies that he's making for EA are some of the best lately from that company (his recent scene with Phoenix Marie / Lea Lexis was pretty good IMO).
