I noticed they did a very small snippet on the porn page in the December issue hailing them as the "Netflix of porn". Just found it interesting, considering they don't seem to get as much play from the regulars here as some of the other companies.

Hi,

Thanks for posting the links and references. Regarding our not getting play here from the regulars, we've made postings here and there, and most people seem cool. This is a great forum, but there are one or two members who make it their passtime to attack everything we say. Rather than humoring their mudslinging campaigns, we instead prefer to focus on the good things our company has to offer, particularly in reputable and respectable publications like Wired, Stuff Magazine and AVN.

I'm going to take a chance and make some more posts because I like this place and most of the people here. I hope some of you take advantage of our free trial and judge our product and service for yourself. We're shipping from NJ and CA, so turn around time is pretty fast.

I just signed up for BushDVD myself, but I will probably give Wanted List a try at some point. The fact they ship from the east coast may be better for me in the long run.

Cool, I do notice that there are certain posters who seem to have a real negative attitude towards your company, and almost always jump in to get a free shot. I always take what I read here with a grain of salt, as you never really know if someone is just running a cheerleading or a smear campaign, and if they hide the fact they work for the company or the competition, based on what they say. Kudos to letting us know that you may be biased, but stand behind your product.

I'd probably jump at the opportunity to use WantedList as my main adult dvd rental service since they have the selection plus are expanding their east coast delivery, but I am unsure if they are eliminating southern parts of Ohio because of the long traditions there for obscenity laws. I live north of Cincinnati in a area called Butler County (45044) we have our own HUSTLER HOLLYWOOD store, strip clubs etc, it's not a uptight community at all! Is WantedLists stance on not shipping out to Ohio just for the Hamilton County area since that is historically where Larry waged his fight for the freedom of speech?
Another question...
I use Netflix, and they sent me two movies with oral penetration in them lately - The Brown Bunny and Inside Deep Throat. I thought it was funny that they are able to sell/rent these to anyone since they came out of the hollywood shuffle.

I can't comment directly on why companies may choose not to ship to specific regions, other than to say that there are several 'do not ship' lists floating around and none of them are perfect or comprehensive. Basically, obscenity is a matter of interpretation, and adult companies avoid certain hot spots to reduce their overall liability. This is not just a business decision, but a personal one for many people, because the reality is that no one looks good in an orange jumpsuit. All we can do is fight such unjust, unconstitutional legislation via personal effort and by supporting organizations like the Free Speech Coalition.

Just wante to say I had just signed up for Wantedlist.com for their Rock Star plan, 6 DVD's out a time. So far I've had their service a little over a week and I am impressed. They seem to have decent stock, and seem to ship pretty fast. I am going to give them a try for one month and I will report back with a detailed review of their online rental service.
