Warner Brothers has started a program to allow people who purchased their HD DVD's to trade them for the corresponding Blu-ray disc for $4.95 per disc + $6.95 shipping per order.
All that you have to do is go to their website www.red2blu.com, select the discs that you want to swap and pay the $4.95 per disc + $6.95. Then you send the cover art from the HD DVD's to Warner Bros and they will send you the same titles on Blu-ray.
When Warner Bros sends their confirmation e-mail, it will include a pdf of a pre-paid shipping label for sending the cover art to them.

Doesn't seem like a very good deal to me. Maybe if you *really* like some of the movies you bought as HD-DVD it would be good. Otherwise, why not just watch them on the HD-DVD player you already own? At one time I had two VHS vcrs, a DVD player, and an LD player hooked up to my system so I could play various media. Oh well, I guess I don't have much of a point. It's a nice gesture, it just doesn't seem worth the money and effort to me.

I did it for my copy of 300 and Batman Begins I had, got it free with my HD-player for my xbox I bought and never really used it. Now if only other companies take the same route...
I have several free HD-DVDs I got free (I got a hell of a deal, I never did pay for one of the HD-DVDs I have...) when I got my player, and a lot of them I'd like on Blu. 5 bucks a disc with no max.
I was happy getting my 2 favorite HD flicks on Blu for only 17 bucks.

Since I didn't need to return the original discs, I photocopied the cover art and am going to give the HD DVD's to my nephew, who doesn't have a Blu-ray player, just an HD DVD player.
Also, even though I think that HD DVD was a better format overall, my HD DVD player is a bottom of the line player that doesn't output 1080p, while my current Blu Ray player is one of the best on the market. So, for a little over $50, my nephew has 9 new movies to watch and I have them on a format where I don't have to worry about whether my player will die and cause the disc to become obsolete.
