There was a good combination of fresh young faces as well as the gals who were fan favorites who'd been around for awhile. I personally liked to see a favorite or two and a new face or two when I rented/purchased a video. 'Monica Sweetheart in the video? Rent that one for sure.' Many of the gals looked like the girl next door. Some, certainly not everybody, liked ladies who looked more or less like the everyday woman seen on the streets. Then came the tattoo's, the piercings, the petro-chemical hair, the boob jobs and other assorted plastic surgeries done at the butcher shop. Many porn gals looked like they just stepped off the strip club runway. IMHO, the attractiveness of the ladies took a turn for the worse. Gals like Tanner Mays, kind of cute the way she is now, would get boob jobs and mar their appearance. Some guys like smaller-breasted cuties the way they are, not looking like their nipples are inflation valves used to pump-up the tits. We all have examples of ladies we once liked to see who, after the transformation, became unattractive at best and grotesque at worst. I'm sure the Hells Angels motorcycle guy was delighted by this, but the average guy who likes what appears to be a college-aged cutie was discouraged. I used to rent around a dozen videos a week and did so for close to 20 years. I bought used VHS tapes, some new ones, was given some, and accumulated quite a collection, more than 2500 VHS tapes and another 1000 or so DVD's. I probably bought around 150 videos/DVD's a year starting in the mid 1980's. Almost everyday, I'd for into one of the mom and pop video stores looking for rentals or sales, I'd keep notes on what I saw that I liked and what I thought was worth a buy. I became an expert in knowing who to talk to and getting what I wanted, some new, some used. The guy who lives next door to me is Japanese and owns a video store. One day we talked and he was complaining that his adult rentals wasn't what he projected so I became his consultant and he's given me close to 500 DVD's for some computer work I did and recommendations I proposed and his rentals/sales increased 5x over. I also did that with a video store on the corner, so close to me I could hit their roof with a 5 iron from my front yard. They let me buy new videos wholesale and I used to buy Sineplex titles unseen, I knew their quality would be excellent. Now, I rarely visit adult video sections, many of the mom and pop porn peddler places have gone belly-up and what fare I find isn't worth a rental. I used to rent around 500/year, I doubt it's even 50 now. I can't name a favorite American porn star, much of what I see is MILF or boring. So, here's one guy who watches an old collection of favorites rather than the new shit in the market. Apparently, I'm not alone. This gal is what I'm talking about, sadly rare these days.
