The disc has got 10s of little scrapes and marks from sliding around whilst in post. Tried the disc anyway hoping it would still work, 5 minutes into the film it freezes up and goes straight to chapter 2. Really Really annoying, had a quick scan through the rest of the disc and so far I cant see anymore problems with it, but it was only a quick scan sooo im gonna have to try and watch the whole thing from begining to end to find out how damaged it is. So is there anyway of repearing it ?, maybe cleaning it with something might help, (although these are marks not dust), also if I decide to keep the disc will the problem continue to get worse and become more unreadable the more times I watch it ?, or will it stay the same providing its looked after ?. | greybeard Member 181 Posts 8/00 | Posted - May 30 2001 : 5:31PM If you received the disc in that condition from wherever you ordered it, you ought to be able to exchange it as defective, and get a new copy of the same title shipped to you. This has happened to me a couple of times, and in each case, the outifit I ordered it from exchanged it for me with no problems. Chances are, the thing was loose (or about to come loose) in its case when it left the factory, or the little plastic "clamps" built into the case were defective. In any event, this should be considered a "defective disc" and replaced by any reputable retailer. [Link] |

If you go to a large DVD retailer they even sell DVD cleaning kits for just a few bucks. I bought mine from DVDExpress. Since I don't know how bad the scratches are, I don't know if the cleaning process will help, but it may be worth a shot. good luck ;-) [Link] |

Boy..I was VERY skeptical at first..but I bought into it. And I was so blown away! As to how this thing works..I will never know..but all I know is..that Wolverine's body (X-Men) is protected by adimitum..and so why should'nt your DVD disc too? Seriously..take on of those horrible AOL discs..put the substance..and slide it encoded side first from the kitchen to the other side of the wall! Notice..only some scratches?!? Do this to a disc unprotected!!! You will be amazed. Also..the substance the quickshield bottle..will prevent the disc from not getting a lot of dust. Well..I love the product..I have 3 bottles!
