Most of the time if they were popular some other company will acquire their catalogue of movies. But what if nobody officially acquires the rights? For example, companies like Alpha Blue sells a lot of porn from the 70s. But I'm wondering if they actually own the rights to that stuff or is it just some guy who is selling copies of his old collection of movies. I guess you can get away with selling your old copies of it as long as somebody who really owns the rights sues you. [Link] |

This is only required for movies produced after 1990 and it says you have to provide proof of age if you produced the movie not distributed or sold it. In Section (f) it says the person or company distributing it just has to make sure the disclosure notice saying who is responsible for the records is still shown. So you may be in trouble if you make a compilation and don't include this info for every scene shown in the compilation. I'm not a lawyer so I'm just giving my possible interpretation here. This bring up another interesting side question though .. how do tube sites get away with showing video clips without including that proof of age records notice? Isn't that a violation of this 2257 requirement? [Link] |
