| Takeo Member 104 Posts 5/00 | I keep seeing this term in the forums. I take it that it's someone who's not interested in dialog... anything else? And where does the term come from? Sorry if this is a stupid question Just to ramble for a bit... personally, I like both plot movies (like Justin, Bliss, etc.) and gonzo/all sex. Depends on my mood. I like plot because, if done right, it adds a lot of realism. To me, a realistic situation is very exciting because you don't know for sure what's going to happen. In gonzo... you know what to expect... wall to wall, over-lit sex. In Bliss, Chloe's scene is all shot with red light... like a real room might be. Most porn is lit like a gynecologist's office. In Bliss, there are shadows, depth or field, long shots, sound effects (passing cars, barking dogs etc.) and lighting tricks like moving lights to simulate passing traffic. It is so realistic! At times (especially the hotel scenes) It's not like you're watching porn at all! It's more like you are a voyuer watching a real situation. Very cool. But I like plain old gonzo too... Seymore and Ben Dover esp. The other thing I find is that I don't watch gonzo from beginning to end... what's the point? I get bored watching 2 hours and 20 minutes of wall to wall mechanical banging. [Link] |
