That said, I would definitely be interested to get a definitive answer on the subject from people in the biz in Europe. I know certain posters on RAME used to assert that you could shoot 16-year-olds with parental permission in the UK, but while I had no hard evidence (NPI) I always thought that was nonsense. Mayfair magazine used to run a column on issues from 10/20 years ago etc and they had to censor pictures featuring girls who were underage when shot, so clearly there were loopholes that no longer apply. Traci Lords was way underage in most of her porn flicks. If the authorities would know, I am quite sure none of the old videos would be available, nor would any company dare to re-release any of these as DVD. You know, over here in Germany all the old videos from Beate Uhse are still available, including all those Traci Lords flicks, like the one someone else mentioned a couple of postings earlier. The idea was make extra sure that under 16s were protected. So the problem is, there are films (normal, BBFC) with under 18's in plus page 3 photos all out there. I have also noticed that newspapers still publish these old page 3 pics and even new pics of 16 and 17 year olds on the beach. Either they don't know about the law or are just ignoring it. [Link] |
