What I mean is... porn stars have films that they star in - Cum Farters, Pop in Me 2, Cumfart Cocktails 3 etc. But what about the web? I bet they do some right good stuff in the web category too, but it's much harder to find because you can't simply search by the title of the film for there is no title. Say if I wanted to watch each of Logan's (my pic) web work, would that mean I'd have to subscribe to each site in order to view the content? Is that how you watch porn stars web stuff? By subscribing to all of the separate web sites? Can't you purchase their web work on aebn.net like you can their film titles? And what about other things such as how much do they get paid for web work? Do they pay less? And what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing it overall?
Unless it's for someone really small (a start-up site in Michigan or something like that), the pay is the same. There's a set rate in LA for g/g, BJ, b/g, anal, etc. Whether the scene is destined for DVD or a site doesn't matter. Most of the big sites release their stuff on DVD eventually anyway, so you can still get it. Brazzers, Bang Bros, Reality Kings, Naughty America, etc. all release their scenes on DVD under the name of the site where it appeared originally. To locate what a girl has done for websites, you can either wait until that stuff appears of DVD and then it will turn up here, on IAFD, and at your favourite DVD stores (physical or web-based), or you can search on awmdb.com, the Adult Web Movie Database. It contains info about which scenes a girl has done for which sites. So if you have a girl whose scenes you want to watch all of, yes, you would either have to subscribe to all those sites, or you would have to be patient until the scenes are released on DVD. In the case of someone like Logan, though, it might be different because she was in Euro porn. I don't think all of the Prague and Budapest-based sites release everything on DVD like the LA companies do. So, a lot of subscribing is likely in order.
Another thing is the the 1-girl pornstar sites tend to have a short life. So if you know you will be a collector, it's better to subscribe to her site now, and collect all or her stuff now, before the site goes away. And I respectfully disagree with killbill's assertion that "everything eventually winds up on DVD". IMO it makes sense for the producers to only release the most popular scenes on DVD and let the lesser scenes remain at web-only access. You can't predict what the decision-makers will do. Again, grab it online while you can; pornsites disappear all the time.
I have to disagree with the assumption that the LA companies release all of their scenes on DVD. Brazzers doesn't (and couldn't as they do many scenes each and every day for their sites) and companies like Kink.com and Intersec do not (they aren't in LA but in Kink's case they are as large or larger than many LA studios).
