I don't get it, it's a new trend that many movies resemble rapes, choking, hair pulling, slapping (beyond the point of it being sexy)
Especially gangbang themed movies, the Gangbanged series have a good concept. However it's constant abuse of the girls, smacking, pulling, choking the girls, putting their hands over the girls' mouth so they can barely breath, the gangbang in Asa Akira is insatiable 2 is also very rapey. Girls screaming that they are worthless whores etc.
Gangbangs can be intense without all out that abusive shit a good example is Amy Brooke's recent gangbang scene in No Limits that was super intense. Ofcourse the sex has to be super intense girls doing dp, double anal, overstimulation by cocks in every hole etc. Not degredation and annihilation of the girls.
I mean it's one thing with kink scenes where you know that it's a scenario that the girls are prepared for. I know I don't have to watch it, but rape themed movies may put ideas into demented people out there.

I don't get it either. Must be some pretty twisted people that enjoy seeing girls being abused. Not even remotely erotic for me.

It's porn that caters to guys with "issues",of which I'm sure there are plenty in this day and age.

^^ Thats an exaggeration, either that or you're watching the wrong sort of movies...
I do however know what the OP is saying. Don't get me wrong, I like BDSM and some of the stuff at sites like kink.com But for me the girls have to be enjoying it...
The choking and stuff like that, also a lot of the European stuff from Cruel Media, specifically, does nothing for me, the guys are way too rough, especially the scenes where they out number the girls (which is most of the time) The girls end up being thrown around and overly man-handled to the point that they're clearly not enjoying it.
I'm a face man first, when I watch porn I'm not fixated on the pussy or their assholes, the face is where the beauty begins. It is very, very easy to tell when a girl is uncomfortable and thinking, WTF is going on here I didn't sign up for this.
And its even worse when the 40+ year old guys are laughing and metaphorically high fiveing each other(sometimes actually doing it), generally treating 18 year old hunnies like meat.
Contrarily to popular belief not all porn fans are misogynist assholes.

Which is not to be confused with the "rape" themes. What the OP describes is not the "rape" stuff, but the "punishment" stuff. I like it, to each his own. There has always been an appeal and a market in hardcore for smacking the girl around and treating her like a toy. That's the theme of this stuff.
Rape implies that she doesn't want it, and is held against her will. Punishment just implies that it's hyper-agressive/abusive hate fucking, but not that it is forced. But more like, doesn't know any better or have enough self-respect than to take the abuse. YES it caters to the interest of male dominance and power. Big deal. Doesn't mean us who like it have "issues". Face it, not everyone is the same. Not everyone likes goody-goody porn.

Eh, not my thing. But I think it's going a bit far to assume that anyone who enjoys this genre is damaged in some way. There are an awful lot of people who think that anyone who watches porn of ANY kind is sick. Of course, we know that every one of us here are perfectly well-adjusted individuals with no hang ups at all. Right?

There's nothing new about this, it was much more prominent in the 90s and early 2000s. I wouldn't say a girl screaming that she's a worthless whore is particularly rapey, as that is not something likely to happen during a rape. But I get what you're saying, these scenes are heavy on degradation. But it being 'beyond the point of it being sexy' is very subjective.
Considering that you're talking about gangbang scenes, I don't think that many of these scenes have a heavy dominance and degradation vibe is too surprising.
The kink factor in Asa Akira is Insatiable 2 is pretty heavy and I doubt anyone thinks that Asa was somehow unprepared for it, particularly with the connecting material. Not all the Gangbanged series have that vibe though, I think it depends on the woman and what she likes, Asa is obviously quite into being submissive and masochistic so that is prominent in her gangbang.

there's a good reason why you see adverts for sites like pornstarpunishment and "18andabused" on literally every major tube site.
it sells the best.

Actually he's right.Compare today's videos with the classic Adult movies and those ladies could give a blowjob without spitting all over the place or admiring her spit on some guy's cock.On the other hand you've got guys spitting into their vaginas or asshole or even mouths.Complete turn off at least to me anyway.

Often claimed, but little evidence this is true. One sees ads for black teen gfs as well on the same sites, just because there are ads doesn't mean its the best selling, the best selling lists on VOD and DVD sites certainly don't back this up.

I think it's not the same thing as anal trend at all. I like watching anal scenes, sometimes very strong ones. But as long as the girl is getting pleasure out of it.
What we are talking here is strong degradation of women, with her literally begging for her life, which is not a good thing to portray at all.

Personally, my stomach churns and my brain totally disconnects if trying to "understand" this theme.
I don't get how someone can see beautiful women like Riley Steele, Audrey Bitoni, Nikki Benz etc and think "yeah, it's all well and good them looking stunning and putting on an excellent performance of sucking and fucking some dick, but what I REALLY need to get off is some dude(s) towering over her and smacking/forcing/getting violent." FYI, I'm not advocating this genre with less-beautiful women, all I'm saying is I worry about the undertones to such material.
That's just my opinion.

Probably sounds strange but girl-girl domination I find hot. One good thing with girl-girl abuse is that atleast the other girl has a concept of what feels ok and what's too much like just rammning a hand in the other girls ass barely without warm-up and things like that. Not to say that some girl-girl scenes are incredibly rough :P
Even the rapey girl-girl scenes is often not as rough as gangbangs.

I think it disturbs the scene that the seen is only based on abuse and pain of the girl, not being about watching intense sex.

Somehow, in your mind, you are hoping, or thinking that the porn girls actually like doing porn. 90% do not like it, its a job, this is fact. That said, the directors, Im sure, try to cater to fantasies. So which ever fantasy they are acting out,its just a paycheck. I bet a lot of girls would balk at some heavy petting and lots of french kissing, and lovemaking with a guy they are not physically attracted to.....feel ok paying a girl to do that? or having her call herself a used whore?
This is NOT reality TV, its fantasies acted out,its a paycheck, enjoy the ones you like!

I think that's more likely down to those tube site being owned by Brazzers, who also happen to run Pornstarpunishment.com and a lot of the other sites that are advertised on them.
Yes, that kind of thing has plenty of fans, but from what I can see it's still a niche product rather than something that's dominating porn.

Mostly because it is made by men,,,,men who enjoy degrading and abusing women, that's why they got into porn in the first place...sadly the list is long....

What makes you so sure? I have no doubt that some girls have done it strictly for a paycheck, and some of them are good at pretending they like it when they don't. But 90%? Do you have a link to a study or something to back up that number?

I have to say I share the distaste. Stuff like the "pornstar punishment" scene with Megan Coxxx - which is a rape scene pure and simple IMO - sends shivers down my spine (and not in a good way). I have to question the mentality of the people who make this stuff.
Moreover I should warn fellow Brits that since a change in the law a couple of years back, this sort of thing is seriously illegal in the UK. The episode with Megan Coxx featured a British Male performer; I hope it wasn't filmed in the UK, because Brazzers would have placed the actors in a very difficult position if it was.

Let me just clarify, so I'm not coming across as holier-than-thou, that I actually don't object to the rape/coercive-sex scenario particularly, merely that the focus in these "punishment" films is not getting the woman off (a scene can start out coercively but develop into one where the woman becomes an enthusiastic participant) but physically abusing her to the point of breaking down/injury. It's the punishment I object to.

You have a big point, porn is degrading to women to different extents. But it differs a lot from movie to movie, some male performers like Erik Everhard and Ian Jay just seem very horny very much into fucking the girls, doesn't seem to get of on humiliating them. I think there are a lot of male performers who seem to enjoy abusing the women.

Well, I bet we can all agree that power is sexy. That's the premise for all rape/nonconsent/domination type fantasies. If I take the kink.com's Boundgangbang series, the best and most intense scenes aren't particularly the roughest or bound scenes. Take for example the Katie Summers or Kara Price scene.
A coercive situation, submission, humiliation - that can be hot and certainly makes up for many fantasies we all (yes all, albeit don't always dare to admit to) have. It's just plain hard to create a great scene like that every time, and then the producers resort to ordinary violence as 'power'. So that's where all the rough manhandling comes from.
I wouldn't particularly see the violent behavior as a new trend, rather as the industries inability to consistently hit the highs of great, great domination scenes.

There is a big difference between depicting rape and filming slapping, chocking, face-spitting, hair-pulling, etc.
Rape is a theme seem in Japanese movies, the American porn producers are smart enough to realize that filming rape or even hinting at rape will bring the blue-nose attorney generals and zealous anti-porn feminists down on the heads faster that flies on a fresh dog turd.
I remember a scene with Wilde Oscar and Nikki Sterling who were husband and wife. He sneaks into her house and forces himself on her. It does get a little over-the-top and at the end of the scene they do say they're married to each other, love each other, and would never hurt the other.
Fortunately, rape isn't done by the American producers and I don't think the Euros do it either.

The Euros don't do it? French,Italian and Russian porn are rife with it ,though the French and Italians tend to favour the more eroticised form (where the female eventually gets so turned on she becomes an active participant) whereas the Russians generally go for the girl screaming and resisting through the whole scene type.

It's very simple. She should try to get out of the situation if she doesn't like it. Sex isn't one-sided. You can't just slowly worship some beautiful woman's body if she wants you to gorilla fuck her with your hand around her throat. Some women even have rape-like fantasies.
I just think we need to be careful when we classify movies as being "rape themed". Rape is such a fucked up thing, it's hard to make a simulated version of it. If the actress is constantly saying she want's to stop, then that's another thing. I've seen times when an actress just can't go through with the scene and is crying and telling everybody to get away from her. Now if they still forced her to do the scene, then that would be rape, or simulated if it was all staged. Aggressive and/or violent sex just isn't the same thing, because there are many people(male & female) who want to get punished, or who want to punish.

I highly recommend that porn viewers heed the pre-amble shown on some Brazzer videos:
"Warning: The scene you are about to watch is scripted. The story, setting and characters are fictional. The actors are adult entertainment performers who have consented to performing in a thematic adult film. As with any other work of fiction, this scene is for your entertainment and viewing pleasure only - and not to be recreated or reenacted."
Translation: Porn is fantasy, make-believe and created as an enterprise to make money by showing you depictions of fantastical situations. Women are not being raped on screen, abused or forced into sexual slavery. If you think they are, then either you the viewer have the issues (not the publisher of the flick) with accurate perception of reality or you simply have stumbled into a niche that is not to your liking.
In the former, seek counseling. Immediately. Nobody needs saving in these vids. The 'magic window' you think you've somehow stumbled across isn't really a window nor magic. Get thee to a shrink post haste.
In the latter, switch DVD's, channels or URL's until you find what you DO like. Leave it the fuck alone because clearly you don't understand it, you aren't entertained by it and it isn't meant for the likes of you. No accounting for taste one way or another. Just move on lest YOUR particular fetish become the next Congressional Witch Hunt Du jour.

Yes, but working for those sites the girls pretty much knows what they've signed up for. Not sure if girls doing "normal" gangbangs are prepared for all that super rough degradation, I've heard other stories about how girls are being pushed during the scene to do more things than they originally had agreed to. "Accidental double anal" and things like that.

^You'd have to relate to us where you saw those stories because I have never heard a whisper of girls agreeing to do a gang bang under duress and I certainly have never heard of one girl getting a DAP by mistake. If you had said a DP then I might have said less than likely but trying to stick two dicks in a girls ass is not the kind of thing you can make by mistake.

That's as maybe. However that doesn't change the fact that this kind of porn is now illegal in the UK - there was a case where a teacher was murdered and raped by a man who apparently had a fetish for rape and extreme sex porn and following a campaign by the woman's relatives this genre was banned.
The penalties can be quite severe, more in the sense of the fact of being made a social outcast. That was all I was trying to warn my fellow Brits of; it's possible some might not be aware of the fact. I imagine its possible that even some performers in the UK might inadvertently get involved in this genre of porn without realising the consequences. Apart form a flurry of publicity at the time, the new laws against extreme porn are little publicised - I have heard of people who have fallen foul of the fact that it can be illegal to posses photos of a 17 year old girl in a bikini. (Even 17-year old boys who've posted pictures of their 17 year old girlfriends on Facebook have received cautions - a low-level legal sanction here)
Even if Performers shoot in the US and inadvertently bring back a showreel with this kind of porn they could end up in serious trouble.

One doesn't really know a performers feelings until they've retired and their comments will no longer have a negative impact on their worklife. Even as great a performer as Annette Schwarz commented on her blog about flagging interest in the sex scenes, STDS, inferior directors, etc diluting her enthusiasm for performing.

That's no surprise. When you work (relatively) independently you have to deal with all sorts of people. That's not just porn. I'm frankly surprised that there aren't more stars blasting (not the industry itself but) certain people/companies when they retire. It isn't enough to be a great actress and having an endless appetite for dirty sex. If anywhere from 20% to 60% of the people you work with are unreliable, flaky, untrustworthy, abusive, or exploitive, then of course it will take a huge toll.

^ Don't have a bad thing to think about them privately?
It's also worth noting that many jobs have the added perk where pretty much everyone tries to get along and be polite. That's not necessarily gonna happen in an informal environment like a porn set where many things that would be completely unacceptable anywhere else are happening all the time.
Like it or not, people have a low opinion of sex workers. Even people who work in the same industry. It's fucked up but that's how people can be. Obviously they probably do take a lot of shit from people who don't respect them because they just plain don't have to or want to.
I'm sure there are a lot of things that come at them from many different angles that eventually wear them down.
As I've said many times, I don't think it matters if they're having fun or not. It isn't required. You may have a job you enjoy but I'd be willing to bet most people don't. Still doesn't make the "rape" accusation valid.

I agree that there's nothing that unusual about the fact that you're not going to really hear what performers think until they've left the industry, same goes for politicians, etc. That doesn't mean that the performers are all being secretly abused though, I very much doubt that's happening on an Evil Angel or Elegant Angel set.

I'm happy that Audrey Bitoni does not do this kind of scene and shows that she is in control of what she will and won't shoot. I am not going to judge her if she ever does do it and I will watch the scene but I don't think she ever will so I am glad I don't have to worry about Audrey Bitoni getting hurt by some barbaric caveman antics. Spanking, even hard ones like her scene with Sunny Leone and Tommy Pistol is hot but I have no desire whatsoever to watch Audrey Bitoni get slapped, choked or have her hair pulled by a hooligan misogynist.

It shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Money. The industry is going to keep making this kind of stuff until the folks out there stop watching it. A great example is the "Taboo" series over the years. Incest wasn't something that anyone would mention until it hit the screens of the old theaters and then it took off. It's the same type of phenomenon only on a smaller scale.....so far.
