Following the comments from Cal and Lindi, I wonder how much market research is actually done, other than going by fan comment in forums like this? Is simply judging by the titles which sell in big numbers the way you decide what to release? I wonder, because we wouldn't see the proliferation of niche marketed titles (e.g. internal cumshots, foot fetish etc) if volume sales alone counted for everything. Peoples' tastes are getting more specific and more sophisticated, but are they getting more extreme? Maybe in vocal fan forums like this, but in the wider porn viewing public who aren't so up on trends? I don't really know, that's my honest answer. However, I think we're looking at a market where someone will be willing to make a movie for every niche that exists.
