Pale skin, tall, slim, long-limbed, blonde hair, blue eyes, NO ASS, attractive, but not sexually provocative, were all seen AND promoted as the American and Northern European ideal in beautiful women. White guys got taught through culture to desire that, white women got encouraged through culture to be that. More importantly a lot of women, white and not, wound up feeling small, insignificant, and bad, and their worth de-valued, if they weren't that. The body image issues and self esteem issues that many American women and girls developed over the last 50-75 years, were partly as a result of this cultural conflict. Some of the porn girls have written about this in these pages. As American black, and world Latin and Hispanic culture, (with their long appreciations for the big female booty), have become a larger part of general pop culture, it's been increasingly more acceptable for people, white and otherwise, to feel comfortable in their own skin, and to follow their own personal proclivities on this particular issue. In all races, there's always been lovers of females of all shapes, sizes and flavors. Today's society just allows people more freedom to express that. Also, streetdance and modern Latin music/styles (salsa, merengue, reggaeton etc) place more emphasis on hip movement etc, which shows off the ass. Successful black artists are looked up to (even) more than a few decades ago, so their cultural preferences and attitudes, whatever their source may be, carry more weight for mainstream pop culture. Personally, when I was a teenager/adolescent (early 1980s, I wanted to impress my peers with the looks of my dates, and in my white middle class environment at the time, dating a slim girl with a relatively small butt and big boobs worked best; a girl with a really big butt (or a 'chubby/fat' girl) might draw nasty comments. If hiphop culture would have been as popular as it is now, I might as easily have chased the bigger butts and avoided the 'flat ass'. In adulthood, I feel much less pressure to impress my peers with the girls I date, so my personal preferences play a larger role. I have realized that I'm relatively indifferent to breast and butts size. It's shape that counts most to me. But should public taste shift again, I doubt whether it will still affect me as much. Especially if that issue is so inherently steeped in sexuality and sexual attractiveness as big tits, or a big ass, are. I think women like to feel attractive in the general sense, but if they feel that guys are always stepping to them because of one particular aspect of their attractiveness, or if they feel that guys are focusing ONLY on that particular aspect, then it becomes a double edge sword. And sometimes a source of much unhappiness for the woman. Many are the cases of women, especially young women, who were extraordinarally blessed in the breast area, that wound up unhappy as guy after guy fixated on that area of her being to the exclusion of other features or qualities she might possess. For a lot of women, having big breasts becomes a sort of albatross, defining their worth to others, and inhibiting their social development. To your specific comment, when a white girl in America has a big butt, in addition to the inherent self-consciousness that brings when she compares herself to her friends and peers, (not to mention what the fashion and professional beauty industry tells her), there is also the cultural component that we have been discussing in this thread, that adds to her confusion. It can be a little difficult, and intimidating, for a white girl when all the brothers are hollerin' at her, and tryin' to step to her because they find her attractive with her big ol' butt, while at the same time many white guys, (including many whom she might be attracted to and want to impress), see her figure and especially her big butt, in a negative light. And no matter how many times me or some other brother tells her she is the bomb and got it goin' on, the white guy that she likes told her that she is a fat ass. Finally, there is the undeserved social stigma that comes with having overly developed sexual parts for females. Primarally, big breasts and a big ass. Or sometimes just an overtly shapely figure. The proverbial "brick shithouse" look. How just having big tits, or a big ass, marked a girl as somehow "sluttier" than most is beyond me, but that was the case in the lunacy of puritan America. Probably because more people focused on those particular aspects of her being, and then transferred their addled perceptions onto her. All this added up to a lot of American girls and women, mostly white but not always, walking around unahappy with their natural blessings. Or at the least, ambivalent about them. Until John Stagliano came along and made porn stars out of white girls with big asses, the world came to the place where the brothers and the South American and the Italian and the Cuban and the Hawaiian and the Puerto Rican and all the other dawgs that are lovers of the big okole had been all along.
