Wow, who knew evolution could take effect within five years? These kind of things have to do with social mores, not evolution, which takes thousands and thousands of years. I think a lot a guys were into big butts on girls, just look at the cartoons of Crumb, but for years their tastes were ignored by the mainstream and porn industries. This is just a correction, the number of big butt titles has ballooned (pun intended) to an almost saturation point currently, but you won't find me complaining. I always liked big butts. I'm not talking huge, but good-sized. Then again, I'm half Latin. So maybe that is where it comes from. I did notice that alot of men of European ancestry did like skinny, flat-butted women growing up. I think that was a popular trend for the time. There have been many times historically that men of European ancestry have loved more voluptuous, full-figured women. It depends on the trend. This entire era seems like the era of booty. It used to be that cleavge and big breasts was in, but now it seems to be legs and ass is in. I really do think that the white man's acceptance of the big butt these days is due to J-Lo. When her butt started getting so much attention the guys who liked big butts before were able to speak out with ridicule, all the other girls with big butts felt better about theirs and stopped trying so hard to hide theirs, and of course a bunch of other people just jumped on the bandwagon. But yeah, up until just recently white girls with big butts spent most of their time hiding them. It happened on tv quite a bit. On certain shows big/bubble butt actresses you could see how they made an obvious effort to hide it. For example in the early episodes of SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH the star Melissa Joan Hart clearly had a bubble butt but they always had her carry a backpack and bags to hide it. Later when Melissa gained more control she started dressing in clothes to show off her backside. The same thing went on with Jenna Von OY who used to play on BLOSSOM and another teen comedy where the backpack was mostly always present. The reason we see so many white girls with big butts is because of the mixing of races/nationalities and because today more people are carrying more weight than they used to.

I just selected this post as representative of similar-themed ones in this thread, which assert that guys just "start" liking big butts out of following the latest fad or trend. I don't believe it possible. I like big butts and thick legs. I always have, even though the "trend" has been thinness my whole adult life, and popular entertainment media has avoided showing thickness. Even the "voluptuous" divas of yesteryear were hyped for being busty, not for hips/butts/thighs. I never was swayed by the trend of slimmness. I doubt a guy who inherently likes thinness can just "convert" to thickness because of trends. As far as porn goes, I think the market just hit upon a "niche" that has always had many interested customers, but few available products. Guys like me just had to be content with the limited offerings, seeking out titles featuring Nina Hartley, Tanya Foxx, Kassi Nova, Stevie Taylor, etc. in the sea of traditional-looking pornstars. Now we have many more offerings from which to choose. It's nice to be catered to, for a change.

You missed my point. I wasn't attempting to recount the "official" history of bigbutt porn. I'm saying that there was a time when there was no "Big Butt" genre in porn. There was not a "Big Butt" section in the video store. There were no girls who were industry-designated as bigbutt girls (such as your Katja Kassin covergirl example). The girls who happened to have "shapely" butts were just tossed in the overall porn mix, along with all the other porn girls.
