I don't mean for this to be a silly or dumb question, but what does a 20-year-old woman do when she retires from porn? My post earlier today about Sarah Jordan got me thinking on this topic. Obviously, the women use stage names and many color their hair while performing, but how common is it for them to be recognized once they decide to leave the business? And what causes so many to leave after only a year or two of work?
I ask myself the same question from time to time. But it really ruins your pornwatching enjoyment when you think of it too often. Perhaps this is another reason I prefer watching features. The contract girls make enough money to save it for retirement. Although many of them seem to prefer to spend it as there would be no life after porn. But that's not my fault.
Perhaps, but a myth that keeps me from getting remorse.
And your examples don't convince me. IMHO Dasha's Vivid contract wasn't renewed because they had produced enough films in advance to keep her fans happy the next years. And Cindy? Isn't anything better in porn than being under JKP-contract?
So, you´re saying good for Vivid having enough material with Dasha in their cans, but bad for her, who can look where she stays after her contract ended. Is this what you´re saying?
Yes, I think leaving Vivid wasn't her own choice. You can count the girls who left Vivid by own choice with the fingers of one hand, Devon being one of them.
But after all I'm not an insider. All I can do is reading the news and gossip and speculate.
(1) Dance at the local stripclubs (2) Feature dance touring (3) Escorting (4) Move behind the camera (5) Start their own websites (6) Make at least two cumbacks
Then there are those that go straight:
(7) Get a "normal" job (8) Go to school and get a degree (and get a better job) (9) Get married and have kids
For real, these are the most likely ones. Good summary BigBob. Unfortunately, some get wrapped in drugs and end up whoring too. I have heard numerous horror stories (as we all have) but those are not the ones I care to get into.
I guess that begs the similar question, how do they deal with the revenue drop after they leave the business?
By the time a girl gets around to retiring in the biz, it's not because buisness is booming. Alot of girls quit after the "honeymoon" of six months to a year when they're lucky to get booked once a month. The revenue has already dropped below comfortable status and they move back out into the real world or start dancing to make ends meet and eventually just end up "out there" rather than "in here". K
go to medical school like they kept saying they would in interviews, the ones that don't usually get snatched up as partners on wall street pretty quickly.
some probably get married and have great lives. lots find that very few white-collar jobs are interested in hiring sexworkers with no work-experience pushing 30. they stay sexworkers, the weekends of chipping stops being recreational and they're running check-scams or hooking because being a junkie isn't cheap. they probably can't make it to 60 if they don't find jesus, dianetics, or prison finds them.
I would think it's like any other job that requires comitment, few people can or are willing to handle it. Be it sales man at a major company or porn star.
If I was a porn star I would probably never quit, but maybe women dives into this just because they can make easy bucks?
I think all of us rather spend our time in a Bhuddist temple chilling our minds silly till the end of time...
Girls or guys who live for fuckin can go own forever I believe.
"dr." mitchell might be pushing into the upper-middles classwise doing a job with no real competition possessing a degree from a noncompetitive institution. i'm not sure i'd call that more than good luck, cronyism and a comfortable living-standard.
As I mentioned before I have no inside information. But I thought that getting money on a regular basis for three or four years puts a girl in a more comfortable position. While many girls in gonzo get less booked when the "fresh meat" appeal is gone after three or four months.
I've always wondered if the stigma of being a "pornstar" follow these women around when they go back into the real world. I wonder do they have problems shaking their porn pasts, and if they've lost regular jobs because of it.

OOppss!!!I meant to say...i will be doing milf shoots after i dont look young enough anymore, then dirty housewives, then horny grandmas.. By that time i will be stretched anough to do the then trendy dp with triple anal and triple vaginal and i will be making porno movies all my life!!!But when i get really to old, i will be going to the special retirement home for pornstarlets, where we will talk about the old days, and complain about the new starlets
I'd have to guess yes. If a person in Human Resources found out, they would probably not get hired. They would want to avoid a sexual harassment lawsuit - you know some guy will be persistant and stupid. If a female co-worker found out, well, you know how catty women can get. At the least gossip could make the work place uncomfortable.

And after you pass on into that Great Porno Shoot in the Sky, don't forget the possibilities of "Slutty Necrophiliacs # 17" or "Cold, Stiff and Ready to Fuck #9"
Hi guys ! I staid in the porno business for 5 years ; I worked everywhere in the world and when I quit the business, I had the same problem ! What am I going to do now ? Because in France,it's not like in USA... You don't become very rich doing porno... Not rich enough to stop working definitly so... I have my website, I'm dancing in clubs and I try to find something interessing to do ! When you taste porno, it's very hard to do something else but you have to !
Damn, Dolly, I saw your star introduction and I honestly dident know that you were retired.I always thought you were a great performer.Take care and good luck to you in France.
Hi Dolly I saw you in a discussion about the business on ARTE TV channel some time ago. I thought you were doing an excellent job! Have you thought about pursuing a career in the (erotic) TV business? You know the business, you speak English...
Thats SOOOOOOO Funny ,.. I will join you then whahahahahahahahahahah LMAO ;) xx Bobbi
