Anybody can be hot for the big name stars but what about the ones that are lesser known? The ones who have only done a handful of films yet given performances that put the Porn Queens to shame? I find the girls who did a few low budget films and then went back to their lives very exciting. Particularly if they did a gang bang scene and made it look easy. Like it’s something they do every other Friday night. Did they ever do one before in their personal lives or was doing it on film a way to live out the fantasy? If we go a little back in time, there were a number of female performers who did good nasty work like Crystal Dawn, Cris Cassidy, Angel Cash, who never attained class "A" popularity or cast in major feature films. Nanci Suiter probably represents the most stunning actress to grace porn in the golden age, and who quickly disappeared after doing only a couple of movies. Jim Holliday dedicated a compilation to these "unsung" porn actresses in "True Legends Of Adult Cinema: The Unsung Superstars" (1993,VCA). I do not necessarily agree that all of the actresses mentioned in the compilation should truly be called "unsung", but many were truly "unsung" porn performers who just toiled away in often minor or supporting roles. In the older days, Vivid took sometimes 1-2 years before releasing their movies, and when you took note of a female performer you discovered she was already out of the business.
Also enjoyed Cris Cassidy back in the day. Two others from the early 80s that I enjoyed were Rose Marie and Shanna Evans, as well as Kendal Marx from the late 80s.
A Russian girl named Carol. I know of only 6 or 7 scenes she did, but I've been taken with her since the first one I saw, Breakin' 'Em In #7. I'll post a pic later.
I can only think of some classic ones. Bambi Woods. She starred in one of the most famous pornos in history, Debbi Does Dallas, and then disappeared completely. I believe there was even a documentary about this. Barbara Bourbon This one appeared in Private of Afternoon of Pamela Mann (Radley Metzger movie.. I think pretty well known) and she was quite hot there. Then she appeared in some twisted porno called Dirty Western about a couple of convicts who escaped and went on a raping spree in wild west. There is one more movie to her name at IAFD, all dated 1975. Then nothing.
This may sound a bit strange, but I consider Traci Lords my favorite obscure porn starlet. I've only seen one scene of hers - 'Traci I love you' but I guess like many othews I am infatuated with the fct that she did hundredsof other scenes before the scandel hit.
My favorites of the second tier talent ... Madison Monroe. She performed in fewer than 40 scenes before departing. Addison Rose. Still performing but has only about 20 titles in her credits. I keep seeing in the posts names of performers who were quite famous and popular in their days and who have a substantial number of titles in their filmography. I believe the original poster Whitetan was asking for "lesser known" performers who did only a "handful of films". The other posters seem to be adding just names of their favorite stars that do not seem to reflect the criteria of the original poster.
Someone brought this girl up in Starcrossed last week, I'm not sure I can say favourite as I only have one scene of hers, I think she only did three, but she is awesome Roxy

And these are lesser known adult performers? Dont' get me wrong, they are my favorites too Ramsey, but they did a lot of films (in featured roles) and were quite popular in their days.

Rhonda Jo Petty startted out in 1978 (way before Ginger Lynn began her career) and was in over 100 movies. She was extremely popular, and there was a bit of controversy early in her career when she tried to portray herself as a Farrah Fawcett clone. She was prominently featured in lead roles like LITTL ORPHAN DUSTY 1-2, etc. As for Sheri St. Clair she started out in 1983 was active for a few years and acted in close to 200 movies, many in major roles. She had good acting skills and did anals at a time that was not very fashionable. I can hardly call these two "lesser known" adult performers, with few films under their belt.

Great thread topic. At the risk of sounding like Randy West's publicist, I've seen several incredible women in his "Up & Cummers" series who apparently never worked for anyone else before or after. The first to come to mind is BROOKE LYNNE, a gorgeous brunette in her mid-20s to early 30s who said she was from Northern California.
