using firefox 1.0.6

I've been having this happen to me today too.

I was about to write Drew about it, but figured that I'd look here first to see if anyone else was having the same problem.

I'm also running Firefox 1.0.6.

I've been having problems with someone from Malaysia trying to download all of the content of the forum every night around 3am. (I think it's someone that prefers to copy a site's content to their local system for browsing.) I must have broken something in the process.

When I start a new session (close all browser windows and start over) I get it.
It's like the cookie expires too quickly or isn't stored.

Damn, while writing this, the server just stalled big time, and I got it again.

It's been happening at many different times. I've had it happen when clicking on a thread. I've had it when clicking on "Post New Reply" when writing to a thread and I'm getting it every time that I come to ADT from another site.

It's the same message that I've always gotten when coming back to ADT after purchasing something from an affiliate through the Kickback links.

These recent errors are due to me restarting the website. It takes about 60 seconds to restart and all existing sessions are lost.

Fwiw, I've just been browsing elsewhere, and returned by typing in www.adultdvdtalk.com/forum/active.asp, as is my norm. In the past, this takes me right to the list of new messages.

Earlier, I too noticed things were different today. Maybe even yesterday, but not sure about that.

I was taken to a page with this text: "Your browser must have cookies enabled in order to use this site. You also must agree to the terms and conditions on the Entrance Page prior to accessing the site's content. "

"Entrance page" was a clickable link, and that is what I used next. Naturally, I got taken to the 'I agree Enter'
page.

That's my experience, as of this date/time.

Again, just fwiw, I returned exactly as described above, and this time did not get the entrance page, but came right into new messages, as has been normal in the past.

That's only one test. With the amount of traffic this site gets, it won't be long before someone else can tell you what they observe.

I am no longer getting the "Your browser must have cookies enabled...etc" message but I now have a new problem with the site. Maybe I should post this as a new topic but, since I am only experiencing it on this site, I suspect it is related to the maintainance work Drew already mentioned so I'll post the problem here. I'm using Firefox and every adt page I open never registers as having finished loading: the icon on the top right of the screen keeps showing page loading, the bar at the bottom never fills completely, the tab bar shows the page as loading. I called it a problem but really it is no more than an irritation since it isn't actually causing me any problems: I can still read and navigate the pages, the links all work, and (as you can see) I can still post. I thought I should mention it though.

I'm having the same issue as you, Lost Horizon. Also, whenever I post a new reply I never get past the 'Reply posted' page. I have to stop to page load, go to the forum and back into the thread from there.

It's the rotating banner at the top that never load, BTW.

I don't know whether this has anything to do with it or is merely a coincidence, but it appears that my latest antivirus update drastically affected load time for JPEG files. Damn M$ and their crappy OS security, anyway.

I'm seeing none of the loading problems on Linux. Neither in Konqueror nor Firefox. The banner loads fine.
I normally block Flash content. Could it be that?

Eh, I turned off my AV but the banner still wouldn't load. Stuck on "Transferring data from www.adultdvdtalk.com..."

OK, I'm back using Internet Explorer 6.02 and it works fine. Well, the JPEG's still take a long time to load but at least the banner is working now. Hmmm, I didn't see any setting in Firefox 1.0.6 that would affect the banner, but it appears to be something to do with the upgrade.

Now I'm going to turn off AV again and see what happens to the JPEG and GIF load times.

OK, that was weird. The load times sped up with AV off, but now it doesn't make any difference whether it's enabled or disabled and Firefox is displaying the banner as it should.

Drew are you messing with anything?

Oops, forgot to mention I'm back on Firefox.

Everything seems to be working fine for me this morning. I must admit I hadn't realised it was the banner that wasn't loading - shows you how much attention I pay to those things (keep quiet about it though, we don't want the advertisers to hear).
