I know opinions differ and it's all a question of personal preference, but just for the record I'd like to say that I love the looks of all of the three girls mentioned AS WELL as the sexual energy they bring to their scenes.
Well I usually am not staring at older/ugly/fat women but the fact is when u look here at young ladies you will notice that most of them look good, even more truly much of them look like supermodels. Guess where? In Czech Republic... Thats say pretty much of itself, hehe :-))) women always look beautiful.
When you ask some porn actors constantly shooting here about czech girls, they most probably say: "Oh, they are amazing!" :-)))
Well, here in Australia every time I go to a shopping mall I see hundreds of beautiful women. Every one of them is lovely enough to be a porn star if she wanted to. Short or tall, skinny or wide, 20, 30, 40 and everything in between. Variety is a delight and all of them are lovely.

I agree with you. Most of the girls these days can't pull of the shy girl next door is because they have tats all over their body. Seeing those ruin the fantasy that you might have had about them. Then throw in all the double anal and every other act and it's not longer possible to think that she's the shy girl that lives next door.
Seeing a girl who doesn't have any tats and is all natural is such a rarity these days. I think that's why Tegan became so popular. She was all natural when she came in to porn and that contributed to her success. I think the influx of all those gorgeous women from Europe and other countries, mainly triggered by the rise of Private in the early nineties raised the bar for beauty in porn. Not that there weren't beautiful women in porn before that. There were always a few. Ginger Lynn, Tracey Lords, Shauna Grant, Linda Wong, Annette Haven, etc. But in the 90's more and more beautiful women started doing porn. More of the beautiful women started doing anals, and DP, and oral cum shots also, after Private came on the scene. I can remember back when there were specific girls who were known as "anal girls", who might have been sexy but were never the most beautiful. Nowadays they all do anal and DP or they're limited in the work they get. I also think that implants, cosmetic surgery, better production values, and the fact that the women themselves are more in shape in general than they used to be, all contribute. There's also more of a variety of nationalities and ethnicities in porn nowadays. So many different versions of "beauty".
So, There's more people doing porn, from a greater variety of countries, Girls are less icky about porn and seem to embrace it more, I recall a time when girls would not discuss it at all and shunned it as disgusting. In fact there wouldn't be any nudes at all in magazines, now I look in Marie Claire and it features naked people and articles on porn.
With so much more access to porn in private and in public, the fear, morbid disgust and mystery is being removed from it.
What we don't need I think is people trying to bring porn to the superbowl. It's not often I get turned on by a woman in football kit either.
Considering that cosmetics is a multimillion £$ industry I would think that plain old slap would have improved quite a bit since the day as well.
Sometimes makeup maketh the woman, or some of those transvestites really are who they say they are.
No doubt in my mind Eastern Europe is the biggest reason. When I started watching Private movies in the 90's, I couldn't believe how many gorgeous woman they were finding. I started watching 90% Euro movies ever since. In my opinion, European woman on average are way above American woman in the natural beauty department. Add the fact that countries like Czech Republic and Hungary are still relatively poor (for a sad example, read the commentary on Lea de Mae's treatment in the hospitals in Prague), and you have a breeding ground for lots of young girls looking to make money. In America, porn has become more mainstream over the last decade. You can't turn on E! without seeing Jenna Jameson. That has probably influenced a lot of young girls who wouldn't have done it ten years ago, to do it now.
bjfan1127, I would say that most girls do it for "demand" I am kind of in the business, everything I do is for my own pleasure. I would never do a 12 man cum swallow, or a anal gangbang scene, on film. For me...there are certain acts that I want to keep for myself. I think most girls are equally freaky, but don't need the whole world to watch.
I do think the genes are getting better for women as the future rolls on....but because porn is more mainstream than underground it is attracting more younger girls ...with all the documentarys, shows, movies and specials on porn it is targeting a braoder range...and there are alot more attractive people in the mainstream culture than say the underground...so thats why I think there more attractive- younger more mainstream broads, lotsa young girls just outta HS who would "think its cool to do a porn" etc, alot more vanity..explains why many of the girls now dont last long, lotsa 18-20 year olds arent mentally mature and sex coupled with fast money is something attractive to them but they dont realize the consequeces later on in life, both mental or physical...the makeup styles have changed alot since back in the 70s and 80s too...I didnt find the makeup and styles too attractive in the 80s...the makeup now is alot more attractive I think ala Jules Jordan style girls

Porn Stars are better looking Today because The Adult Film Industry has gained a broader and wider range of acceptance ;and has built a more mainstream appeal to it.All it takes is for one Hot Girl to gain ligitamacy;then the next Hottie say's to herself "I can make money doing that".After that its a snowball affect.I also think the growth and accessab- ility of the Internet has made Porn demographically appeal- ing to alot of Girls;where as years before they had to go into an Adult Shop or get it in the mail to see smut.
People generally look better today than at the earlier decades.And thats because everything has changed,there are a lot of money and many methods to improve your physical appearence.Taking into consideration this, the adult industry which is based on good looking girls should have invested on fresh and beautifull girls and fortunately for us thats what it did .The rivalry between the companies is bringing in our screens the best girls worldwide and we all hope this continues...
To some extent it's simple demographics. More women seem to view porn as a career option now than ever before (some credit due to Jenna Jameson for that no doubt) and with the talent pool being wider the creme de la creme will tend to be better looking.
Another way of looking at it is that its not so much that they look better nowadays as much as that we percive it that way because we're attuned that way. We don't find the 80's big hair look so attractive, of the 20's rake thin look etc.
Personally I think it's more the first option than the second. And if all else fails dont forget plastic surgery's more advanced now than ever before :))

Our definition of what is attractive is consistently in flux, as the trends of the 80s that girls wore then are almost quiant in comparison to the "sluts r' us" look that today has the appreciation of all of us men as well as the disdain of the fathers of the daughters.
2. Porn is a more acceptable career path a. JENNA FUCKING JAMESON! Her influence cannot be overstated b. We have mainstream films dealing with porn stars; we see more porn stars on late night cable (skinimax) now thanks to Robert Lombard; Showtime has a reality show based on "Seymour Butts"; there are billboards of Jenna and Krystal Steel in New York; is it really mainstream? Not really. Actresses land more and more roles outside the biz. Doing what? Playing porn stars. However, mainstream definitely enjoys exploiting the industry and at least treats it as something worth studying or paying attention to as long as they keep their hands clean. The girls probably don't pay attention to mainstream's intentions and just know that porn is more out in the open and a viable option open to them. i. Since it is an acceptable path, you get higher numbers of women entering the biz and a higher ratio of hot vs. average looking women

Background: Social inequality has been on a steady rise in America since 1973 and in that time the potential for social mobility (ability to move up in the class system) has decreased. The gap between the working classes and the owner classes has increased and is likely to get worse if Bush succeeds in truly turning us into his "ownership society" What does this have to do with porn stars? b. More and more women are going to college now. However, the gender gap still exists. In the late 90s, women were only making $.76 on the dollar to men. And as we find ourselves firmly entrenched in a service economy women have to look at the system and decide what to do. "I'm hot. I don't want to fucking work in this office job or in this fast food job for the rest of my life. I want to go to college. How do I do that?" Well, porn is a beacon of hope for them. They can make good money and circumvent the system, saying a big fuck you to job discrimination since female performers in porn are actually paid more than male performers. How many interviews over the past couple of years have you read where when asked why they got into the biz the dialogue from girls invariably involved something like "yeah, I just walked out of my service economy job and said, 'fuck this'"? What is sad about this is that working in this chosen industry can be rather lucrative and some of the girls have their shit together and truly invest in their future (Aurora Snow). However, the panic-at least the fiscally-concerned one-that seemed to hit all performers during the moratorium shows that far too many of them squander their money away.

Well, slap my ass and call me Sally. I fell prey to the easiest trick in the book: broad generalizations. If I (and all the others who said the same before) want to say what I want to say I should specifiy which age range I am speaking about. You are correct in asserting that Americans are fatter nowadays. However, does this problem really plague the age group of women entering the industry? It could. I don't know. I haven't honestly seen an age breakdown of obesity in America, though I am sure such a study exists. Even if it isn't obesity, are girls under 25 now largely heavier than they were in the 80s? When I made my generalization, I was merely going off of what I see in the media and what I see everyday on my college campus. Practically every girl I see on my campus is cute-to-hot and appears to be in fairly good shape. However, there are so many variables there that it is ridiculous for me to think that my campus is just like all other's in America, plus it does not account for what girls under 25 not in college look like. But I'll admit that this environment probably effected why I was so quick to broadly generalize "girls are more attractive nowadays".
As for your opinion about the female form peaking in the 1980s-see my and other people's points about a. beauty in the eye of the beholder, b. the continuously in-flux idea of what we find attractive. However, I will share that I have been exploring a lot of video age and golden age era porn (which would fit in the time that you said the peak occurred) and have found most of those women to be really attractive. Some of them look like strippers and the such, but the majority of the girls I have seen really look more the girl-next-door (Taija Rae) or average-girl-in-an-office-job (Tracey Adams). Girl may be sexier and more energetic now, but in some ways I do find myself actually preferring the girls of the 80s.
I don't really know much about 80s but in the 90s and now 00s it seems to me, that one important contributing factor supporting increase of loveliness of women in porn is the arrival of east European girls to the market. Sure, a few of them were on screen earlier too, but with the fall of the Berlin wall many Hungarian, Czech and Slovak beauties found themselves free to choose xxx-rated careers, and it was a way to quickly earn many times their previous incomes. When big directors like Woodman and others discovered those girls, then the competition pressured others to find other stunning beauties and persuade them to get naked in their movies. So I hail the freedom in the former Soviet bloc, and thank this for many and many gorgeous ladies I've seen in porn.
Yes how could I forget..the East European influx. Sylvia Saint sort of changed the entire standard for porn girls as far as I'm concerned. The floodgates have opened since, and while I've yet to see a new Eurochick in quite that same class as Sylvia they are indisputably hot and hotter!
