There's not much chance of that happening however. Many guys buy mail order to be discreet and don't have time to comparison shop for porn. Captive market---like a concession stand at a drive in. I keep hearing cries of production costs and niche market; however, I KNOW some of the gay stars and I KNOW what they being paid & it is not anywhere NEAR what some producers are claiming in some of the published reports of what some stars are being paid. Right now, by being totally ruthless in choosing deals and taking advantage of coupons and the kickback dividend so graciously provided by the owners of this forum, I am managing to average about $34 for generally premium gay titles on DVD. However, I can't always buy the titles I want as many are not on sale or aren't carried by the on-line store with the best coupon deal or sale. So essentially, I've created ADT shopping carts on three different computers (I admit it - I'm a computer nerd!) with a total of about 70 titles that I am interested in buying. Each time I'm ready to make a purchase, I go through the math of which combination of titles at which store(s) represents the best deal. Unfortunately, some of my favorites these days are the product of Kristen Bjorn, High Octane (Paladin) and a few others who have list prices well into the stratosphere ($60 to $90) and are generally poorly discounted (seldom below $50 to $55). However, by buying quantity when a good sale is going on and by using matching kickback dollars (DVD Advantage matches $5 for $10), I afford my habit. ~ GaySatyr [Link] |
