If a girl especially a lesser performer stops the shoot or refuse to shoot won't be paid , can be fined by her agent who also loses money and is at risk of being labelled as "difficult" or "troublemaker" and not be booked again.Even big names sometimes if they really piss off a big producer. Keep in mind that to rent a set or even a location , to hire a talent, a crew and a director and to transport all the material needed costs usually even more than the rate of the star , if she doesn't show up , refuse to work or is too wasted to do anything good , they all lose money, a lot. As strange as it seem if a male talent acts as an asshole hurting the star being too rough and abusive and ultimately ruining the scene as bad as the female and making her escape sometimes he scarcely is fined , maybe never. Some of them are also directors or even agents so an actress accepts what's happening, doing the math she realizes she would lose more than just a shoot. Of course in BDSM there MUST be a safety word it could be very painful if not done properly , but then again not too often there's is a lot of money at stake , if a performer can't take that shouldn't do it at all.
