Aria Interview
By LUKE IS BACK /

After spending a few hours on Ron Spallone’s set Tuesday, I drove a mile up Ventura Blvd to Woodland Hills to get a long massage from Keri (www.humblebodyworks@mac.com), who used to go by the porn name Aria.

Prior to two weeks ago, I had not communicated with Aria for two years though we were always friendly while she was in the industry.

As a child, Keri wanted to grow up to become married and a mother. “I didn’t think about a job.”

She began dating at age 15. She lost her virginity shortly before turning 18. Then she began going to clubs regularly and drinking. She had a sexual relationship with a couple.

A friend in Florida, Jack Spade (Jeremy Doudna), sent her a plane ticket to come to Florida. They married June 12, 1999. She was 22. They were church-going Christians.

Keri confessed her threesome to Jeremy (six years older) who got excited about it and decided they should visit the couple.

On the trip, Keri won an amateur night at a strip club and earned $500.

The Doudnas were behind on their bills. Keri decided to strip most nights of the week.

Then she did a porn film in Tampa in 2001 and another 300 or so over the next four years.

Keri quit porn on April 1, 2005.

Luke: “What allowed you to do porn?”

Keri: “The ability to separate my emotions (and morals) from my actions… It’s like you’re playing a character. It’s not you. It’s not healthy but it’s the only way to do it.”

Luke: “The first time porn was raised to you as a possibility, what went through your mind?”

Keri: “I thought I was going to throw up and then I was heart-broken that the person I had vowed my life to and the person who told me he’d love me till I died would ask me to do such a thing.”

“‘There’s no other way. We can’t pay our bills. We’re going to lose the house.’ I was a young newlywed. I knew better but I allowed him to be the man of the house and make a decision.”

“After I started in the business, I couldn’t go to church. How can you stand before God?”

“The fourth movie I shot was on Playboy in three months. I looked horrible. Everybody back home found out from that one video.”

“I lost everything because of the business. My husband and I got divorced. I had nothing…after five years in the industry. I wanted my life back. I wanted my relationship with God back. I wanted to call my family and not feel like I had to keep my conversations brief in case they asked about work. I wanted to have a real relationship.”

Luke: “What did you do with that $250,000 a year you made in the industry?”

Keri: “I paid for my ex-husband’s girlfriend’s abortion. Bail. Attorney fees. Divorce. The computer. I have no idea. I’ve got some cool clothes. My ex-husband would say, ‘You have to have the best computer. You have to have the newest phone. You have to set an image. You have to dress a certain way and act a certain way. You have to have nice cars. You have to pay a trainer $1,500 a month. You have to have a personal assistant at $4,000 a month to get your groceries. Let’s build a website. I don’t like it. Let’s build another one. So let’s pay this person $5,000 to build it and let’s pay this person to run it.

“It’s all gone and I still owe money to the IRS.”

Luke: “Some parents are so supportive of their daughter’s porn career that they help manage it. What do you think of that?”

Keri: “It’s disgusting. It’s so bad. It’s sick. I don’t understand that. How can you go on set and watch your daughter get screwed by some stranger and say, ‘That’s my girl. She just got a thousand dollars. Yay. She’s going to go to college.’

“That tells us where our society is going. Next the dad jumps in. ‘OK, we’re going to do a little father-daughter action.”

“I think the parents need some psychological evaluation.”

Luke: “What’s it like having a spouse who’s working in porn?”

Keri: “I was the person who was working. He spent his time working on my career. Some would call him a suitcase pimp.”

“I would get home from work, exhausted, and the first thing out of his mouth was, ‘We need $10,000 by Friday.’ We’ve got a stack of bills due. Why didn’t you call this person? Why don’t you want to have sex with me?’

“What? How about a glass of wine? Rub my feet. Light some damn candles. And kiss my ass.

“Women are emotional creatures. My emotions were removed all day at work. When I got home, I wanted to detach myself from work and let my emotional side get a break. And I’d get home and I’d have to stay in character.

“My emotional needs were not getting looked at, which is why he ended up getting a girlfriend [Becca Brat].”

Keri has been with Lee Stone, 39, for most of the past three years.

Keri: “In my current situation it’s difficult. When I was still performing, I was dating him, but now I’m out of the business and he’s not. He’s trying to be out. It’s baby steps. I emotionally detached myself during scenes and so does he but it’s not easy to deal with.”

Luke: “How much would you want to have sex with your husband when having sex was your job?”

Keri: “Not much. The last time we had sex was on camera. It was a horrible scene.”

Luke: “How should society deal with the sex industry?”

Keri: “They should make it more difficult. I feel bad saying, ‘Shut down the porn business!’ It’s me turning my back on people I’m still friends with. Morally, I think they should go after the porn industry with all they’ve got and try to shut it down.”

“Immorality is never going to go away but it is society’s job to try to protect the people from it. We’re our own worst enemy.”

“Porn is very addictive. It doesn’t just go away. It’s unhealthy to show it to anybody.”

“In my church, we have a sexual recovery group. Much of it is for guys who struggle with internet porn… When it is that out there, when you push it in someone’s face, it’s dangerous. It breaks up marriages. It ruins relationships. It ruins men’s self-esteem. It makes them curious and then they turn to transsexuals and animals and children. Once they don’t get high any more, they have to push it further.”

Luke: “How would you feel if your daughter went to work for Max Hardcore?”

Keri: “I’d love to say that I’d shoot Max Hardcore but truthfully I probably would because I do like guns.”

Luke: “If your daughter was driving drunk, would you call the police?”

Keri: “I totally would.”

Luke: “What percentage of porn stars do you think are happy?”

Keri: “None… I think that deep down inside, they feel an emptiness… You can look back and read interviews that I did about how much I loved sex and loved the business and I had so much fun and I was this wild crazy creature. All I think about is sex. Whatever. It’s a crock.

“It’s not all I think about. I think about God and a good pure relationship with a man and I think about my family and I think about having children and how my life is going to effect my children. And when you think about those things, you stop and think, wow, this business sucks. How would I feel if my 14 year old daughter found out I was a porn star when I was in my twenties? How is that going to effect her and effect her friends and the way they look at her?

“It’s not a natural normal business and there’s no way to be happy in that business.”

“I would play a character but a lot of it was how I am. I just put my morality and emotions on the shelf.

“There were times I got emotionally attached, like with the guy I’m seeing now. We got emotionally attached while we were both working in the business. So our scenes on camera were intense.

“During oral, I had orgasms a couple of times on camera but only with the guy I’m dating. He was the only one I’d let myself go with.”

“I go to a casual laid-back church. I tell anyone who I feel needs to know. I’m open with people at church. This is my testimony. This is what I used to do. So far, there’ s been nobody that’s had a problem.”

“I had just retired from the Adult industry and the greeter at the door [at church] said, ‘Are you and Lee [Stone] still doing that show on Spice TV? You’re my favorite porn star. You and Lee have the best show on TV. What happened?’ I’m like, ‘Can I have my bulletin? This is church.’

“He did it again a couple of weeks later. He asked me something that appalled me. I asked the pastor to have him removed as a greeter.”

“My dad has people pray every Sunday [at his tiny conservative church] for Aria. He doesn’t say who it is. Even though I’m not Aria anymore. He just prays for that whole part of my life.”

“I still struggle with purity. Because I’ve had so much sex, it’s hard for me to go cold turkey.”

Aria says the place for sex is within marriage.

“I never felt I was emotionally unhealthy. I just thought I was pretending to be something that I wasn’t. I was spiritually unhealthy.”

“I was a freak. You said you wanted to post all the old stories on me and I said that I’d rather that you didn’t because it’s not who I am. It’s not who I was. It was how I portrayed myself to be. I don’t want to be remembered that way.”

“I think I did pretty good at what I did. I look back at interviews and I don’t even know who that person was. A total nympho, going to parties. There are pictures of me making out with girls on the dance floor, skirt flipped up, tongue down people’s throats, running around with a strap-on in a bar…”

“They’re trying to justify it in their own minds. They’re trying to convince you that they’re doing it for a cause. That there’s a reason. They don’t want to just say that they’re doing it for the money. Yeah, it is totally wrong. It’s immoral. Yeah, I’m a freak.

“They want to feel like they are doing something for somebody. That there’s something good that’s going to come out of it but there’s not.”

“I don’t believe people need sex educators. They’re just looking for more gratification, for a release. Focus on something important. Sex is not the most important thing in life.”

“When we [porn stars] get on TV, it’s for something dumb. I’ve never gotten on TV except for porn (and once for a fitness competition).”

“[Porn] is legal but it is not moral.”

Aria says there’ s no difference between porn and prostitution. “It’s the same sin.”

Luke: “Porn stars are prostitutes without shame.”

Aria: “Yeah. We justify it by saying we’re all tested and we’re all family. It’s comfortable. You go on set and you know everyone. For a year in the business, I only worked with my boyfriend.”

“We just make excuses because when you’re in the business, you don’t want to go, ‘I’m a high dollar whore except we shoot on video.’ Nobody wants to feel that way. It makes them feel more important, more like a star…as opposed to being a sex actor.”

“When I was in the business, I didn’t really talk to people about sex. I have a lot of acquaintances but I have very few friends. I don’t have time.”

Luke: Do your friends in the industry have trouble relating to you now that you’re out of the industry?

Keri: “I don’t think so. They just don’t want me to judge them. One guy tells me he’s going to do a porno and he’s going to play Jesus and he’s going to have Mary Magdalene… I got so mad at him. Bastard. I’m sorry. I still have problem swearing. He knew he was pushing my buttons. That makes me mad. I stormed into the house. He just thinks it’s funny.”

Bob writes: “I wanted to let you know that I think the interview with Aria is just an amazing piece of work. I’ve been watching the clips, as opposed to reading the writeup, and it feels as if she really wanted to talk honestly about her life in porn, and her life out of porn. She comes across as such a decent and intelligent woman; I think any 18-year-old deciding whether to enter porn ought to be forced to watch this and think twice.”

Yes, there are a few things in there that raises my "alert" too. But most of it are good points that I am sure all of us have thought about. Having sex on camera and emotional detachment. Porn versus prostitution - is it the same thing? If so, is it ok? Do people who get into porn really think of how they will be perceived later (by church greeters for example)? Would you let your daughter work with Max Hardcore?

I think raising points like that is only healthy, and it is more credible when coming from someone who was involved compared to some religous reactionary activist.

it's interesting that someone with a fairly low profile like her made 250,000 a year.

uh, she is a religious reactionary activist now.

society should do all it can to shut down the porn biz? watching porn is unhealthy for anybody? sex should only happen in marriage?

give me a break. utterly typical "born-again" Christian finger-pointing and judging. she might as well be reading cue cards. and she's all the more vehement because of her desperate need to disassociate herself from her past

to me, it's another example of a person lacking the strength to stand for herself and her decisions. propping herself up with religion when it's her own self-esteem that is the problem.

she'll never be truly happy or confident until she can be comfortable with the things she's done

As I said, there are several things that raises my alert too. Some of the arguments are probably just reciting church teachings. But some of the arguments, like the ones i quoted earlier, are good.

But does she have to stand for her decisions? Can't she regret it? She wouldn't be the first to do that.

I don't think you have to be comfortable with everything you have done to be happy. You regret something, you deal with it, and you move on trying not to let it control your life.

I think she was one of the sexiest girls in porn. I saw a few aria dvds where she looked like she turned on and loving it.

Nobody wants to talk about it, but what does porn do for a woman? $250,000 ain't bad, but if you spend as you go you're screwed. 4-5 years is a good run in the busines and what do you do after? Unless you dance or have a solid site my guess is the money dries up.

My guess is the money was good to her after all the drama she had regret. Hell, sex is emotional and if you can fuck 100's of people and not have it effect you, your a bad bitch. I've met sex adicts and they are few and far between. My deffinition of an adict would be a woman that would sleep with anyone just for the physocal satusfaction. They are some nasty guys in the biz and I am floored when I see some of these fine ass women go to work on them.

Aria's deal is her deal and her reality is real for her. I think anygirl that doesn't have a plan going into the biz is headed for more trouble then they come into the biz with.

Good points, "Double P". (As a retiree)Jewel De'Nyle hasn't performed in a scene in I don't know when, and you never see the likes of her in a downtrodden biker bar begging for a PBR while singing along to "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me."

As far as Aria/Marie Silva goes, I wish her well but she never did it for me. An athletic, larger boned, less attractive "Kimberly Jade" type who could never sell the performance convincingly. She swallowed semen like someone had taken a shit in her mouth.

Wow. I never realized so many people would actually read the interview. However, thank you for even bothering to post about it.
I realize it seems that I was bashing the Porn industry and blaming it for my problems, but that is far from true. I am the first to admit that I made the decision to do porn and I alone am responsible for the outcome. If you actually listen to the entire interview (which is extremely long) as opposed to just rteading the written interview I think I made that point quite clear. Mike says that I was such a "genuine whore" on camera, and he was absolutely right! I don't deny that I enjoyed doing what I did. However, in order to be that genuine whore, I had to put my emotions and my morals somewhere else. And while I was genuinely that person during that time, it wasn't who I really wanted to be. I have been a Christain since I was 3 years old. That doesn't mean I am not capable of sin, it just means I chose to give my life to Christ and that I am a lot more convicted when I do sin. It is not a title that I took on after leaving the industry so I could talk down to others and tell them what horrible sinners they are. When I was in the industry, I did not have a relationship with God. It doesn't mean that I wasn't still a Christian, but I was not living my life the way I believed that I should, therefore I turned my back on God along with my family and my closest friends. And so truthfully, Aria is just Keri without morals. It is genuinely me not taking into regard what I believe is right or wrong. Without that, it was very easy to let the genuine whore side shine through.
The only reason I did the interview with luke is because he asked me to. I don't push my beliefs on people and never will. However, if I am asked, I will be honest and open completely disregarding how it will affect other peoples view of me.
And for the record, I am extremely happy in life. I am not bitter towards the business or emotionally scarred by my time in the business. I grew up a lot over those years, and it helped shape me into the woman I am today. Even my fitness career florished due to the fact that I was so confident and comfortable in front of crowds and interacting with strangers. Everything is so much easier in life after doing it naked! And my relationship with Lee, well thats between me and Lee and me and God. Any guilt or condemnation that I deserve is not anyones concern but my own. I am not trying to change or convert Lee, and the reason I do not judge him or leave him is because I understand the business. We were in it together, and just because I left it doesn't change who either of us are. Yes, it is a double standard on my part, but again, no ones business. It is between me and God, and affects no one but Lee and I. I am not blameless and will always struggle with sin....
Anyways, it was intersting to read everyones opinions and thanks for the feedback!
And Devinn, it is always a pleasure to hear from you!!

Keri,

Do you give any money or funding to your church?

As a European i would say American religious groups have a very bad reputation this side of the pond.

Crying TV Evangelists, hypocrisy, corruption and right wing views are often reported.

Porn stars are not the only people who sin.

+1, yet again another story about the not so hidden injuries of porn. I must say that I am vexed by the ex porners who nurse those injuries by turning to religious fundamentalism which just externalizes all that self-hatred by redirecting it towards others ie... 'non Christians', gays and lesbians, 'secularists,' etc...This is not a victimless crime.

The #1 proble with Christianity is the fact that people who are less than Christian claim to be walking on water.

Thank you Kami....If I were trying to please anyone then I would not have done the interview. But yes, I did live it for nearly 5 years. And yes, all that went wrong in my life happened because I made foolish descicions and ALLOWED it to happen. I don't blame the industry for my own mistakes. However, the industry does offer a lot of options for screwing up! So shame on my for not being the wiser. I've learned from my personal mistakes. I can't change the past, but I can be stronger and wiser in the future. And I am not casting judgement on anyone, how could I? I would be condeming myself along with them. Leaving the business doesn't erase the fact that I was once a part of it. But as it goes in life, we move on in a new direction....I painted cars, trained horses, was a Bellhop, worked as an adult performer....now I am a Personal trainer, massage therapist and pro figure competitor. It was just another job with more extreme and life long consequences.
And life will go on regardless.

you have always been a step ahead of me, I saw you first on an adam and eve set, I was working with Gina ryder, and was scared and upset, you took a few minute to help me (you called dr riggs for me) and it meant the world to me. You seemed so strong and confidant and beautiful, and now I'm sweeping up the aftermath of my adult career and you seem the same way, I'm glad you've come through sane with options :)I hope I do also. Nobody cares to know the truth in almost any situation, but it doesn't change the reality of what you experienced.

Revenge is not all that it crack out to be! Let it lay and move on to something else. Aria has the right of free speech. I think it takes alot of guts to lay it out and now Aria is getting ripped for it! Hang in there! After all; there is two sides to every story!

I'm not quite sure that I understand all this resentment toward her feelings. She did something, enjoyed moments of it and regrets the majority of it later...are any of us devoid of regrets?

That she has a spiritual or religious touchstone has nothing to do with it. I would probably differ with her on most of those issues, but it just doesn't matter. Its her life and she is merely answering questions - giving her perspective and opinion on something she alone knows and feels from her sole perspective. My only problem with Aria/Keri's interview would be the desire to impose her view on others, but other than that, she has all the right to her feelings, doesn't she?

Its exactly the same as an interview with a former performer who has lots of good to say about their time in the industry - it is their opinion based on their experiences. You can agree or not, but allow her her opinion.

Give her a break!

However, I have to admit that Katja's remark on the whole guns and killing thing was quite cogent

"deep down inside, [porn girls] always feel an emptiness."

Porn "is very dangerous, it really is. It breaks up marriages, it ruins relationships in general, it ruins mens' self-esteem; it also makes them curious, and then they get more curious, and then they turn to transsexuals and animals and children"

Porn fans "are sad, they're lacking in other ways, and I think that it's become an addiction; it's become almost like it's . . . it fills a void, and I think they feel a certain dirtiness. I think their relationships are very lacking in intimacy, probably partially because they can't really let themselves go . . .

I don't think they're happy, fulfilled people; I think they're people who are searching for something, and are lost." [Ford: "Porn is for losers?"] "Sorry guys. Yup. It is."

Yeah, that doesn't sound like you're being judgmental at all. Give me a fucking break.

Right on Imak, but as for the things people are in denial about, I'm afraid that Porn would be just the tip of the iceberg.

Since joining ADT, I've alwayed enjoyed reading the two sentences that say it all. Moreover, this chick's keyboard is a loaded weapon. She is the master of the take-no-prisoner post and her words have always made me laugh even when I was the target.

But as self-delusional as I may be, I'd like to think that I learned a little something about Imak from this thread. For better or worse Imak/Kami, your secret is out. This girl has a tender soul and possesses a heart of gold. And Aria/Keri your presence has been a breadth of fresh air here on ADT. I wish only the best for both of you.

PS. Reading this thread has been like auto therapy. You guys should exchange emails, phone #'s etc...Whatever post porn healing you have to do and where ever you need to go, I get the sense that you can help each other get there.

Well, of course Aria is entitled to her opinion, and it definitely takes a lot of guts to be honest when honesty is not what the audience wants to hear. But if it wasn't sad it'd be pretty funny that Aria made pretty much the opposite experience I did. I got into porn because religion fucked up my life... or because I let it fuck up my life... I've been so good and virtuous it makes me wanna puke and I still thought I'm totally bad. I got nothing out of it, and I was afraid of hell constantly. My relationships were not lacking in intimacy, I didn't even have any relationships. Then I changed my life a little bit (quite a little bit, I'd say)... the moment I left the erotic store with my first porn movie made me feel like a free human being instead of a slave for the first time in don't know how many years... also if every tenth man or woman who claims to be a Christian had half the good heart Tiana Lynn has, we'd live in a better world... and now if everything turns out as planned, I'm gonna lose my virginity in less than three months to a beautiful sweetheart I met at this very forum.

I also don't agree that guys have to watch harder and harder stuff once they got into porn. Of course there's always new girls but apart of that I'm still into the same stuff as when I got into porn... only that back then it was way more difficult to find squirting in porn, lol.

Maybe porn is for losers in many cases... but I wouldn't agree porn is the reason these people are losers and lack self-esteem. I'd only agree that porn isn't always helpful as a remedy.

But while I can't agree with many things Aria said to be true for me, too, as long as no one forces me to, I'm okay. And even if this may have sounded pretty cold I really feel sorry for Aria, and I wish she had made better experiences. Plus I'm very impressed by so much uncompromising honesty. But banning porn because it's for losers would be like banning potatoes because it's the only thing poor people get to eat. Just my opinion, though.
By the way, I'm afraid I won't be able to stroke it to Aria anymore... it'd make me feel like a virtual rapist or something now that I know she wouldn't consent in having sex for me to watch anymore. So you see, I still have a conscience and we can keep on watching porn.

Panties - maybe not the best thing in the world, but next to it.

I think this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion. Did she make sweeping generalizations based upon her experiences? Yes, but then we've all done that at least once (I've lost count of the many times I've done it). That still does not negate the fact that what she spoke of was true, at least on a personal level if not universal.

Thank you Keri. I love porn and Aria was one of my favorite performers. May you find the peace you seek.

Some porn stars make great money. they should be smart enough to realize porn is not a lifetime career like most mainstream careers. the world doesnt owe them a hollywood lifestyle. But some of these girls spend the money like their name is faye dunaway. porn is not a 35 year career. if porn is paying you good money, be thankful, and save it for tuition to go back to school to study for a profession.

Thank you so much.....I am very much at peace with no regrets. My opinions are simply my opinions. When I talk about the industry I am not referring to any specific part. I am simply speaking of the sex industry as a whole. If people feel I am hypocritical, their opinion is just as valid to them as mine is to me. It isn't the business that screwed up my life, it is the circumstances that occurred in my life due to my involvement in the business. It is just that, a business. And sex is simply the product being marketed. It will always be around regardless of the moral issue due to the fact that the paycheck is significant. I don't expect the business to be shut down. It would not be a realistic expectation. My moral and religious beliefs are my beliefs alone. It don't expect anyone to agree or side with me. If my opinion is unwelcome, then so be it. My opinions are based on my personal experiences and the experiences of those (who were also in the business) closest to me. Everyone deals with life differently, so everyone will see things from their own viewpoint......The interview was based on my viewpoint. Thats all...I am simply beating a dead horse at this point because regardless of what I say, it just sounds like I am trying to defend myself. And there is no need.

As for the Portuguese, no, I don't speak it!! My mother had 7 children in 8 years and there was just no way she. But I wish I did. My family is actually from the Azores.

Bejios,
Keri aka Aria

Firstly: The Azores: I went to the Island of Terceira once. I had a summer job during college on a cargo ship, and we delivered cargo to the military base at Praia. Very primitive. We tied up the ship along a udimentary dock. Our ship had its own cranes, and we had to load the cargo containers onto army barges. narrow streets. cab drivers drove old mercedez benz's. Little portuguese knick knack shops and a small chicken house. A small open air bar by praia bay. Occasional island native wind-surfing in the bay, with our huge ship in the backround. one pump at the praia gas station. Praia bay was the bottom of a hill that had small haciendas all long the road. lots of jet-fuel tanks outside the US airforce base in Praia. Praia had a small town square with government buildings around the square. A small post office, where the clerk uses a brush to glue stamps to mail. Across the island was Angra, a larger, slightly more modern town. Portuguese military guy shook his hand at me to not take photos of the portuguese military that were in the area. ...As for the sex: Keri/Aria: Do you make any kind of claim that you never truly enjoyed the sex in the videos you did? You seemed to enjoy it in one video I saw? You never had real orgasms on Screen? And in this modern era, to be a good christian, does it really have to mean 100% such prim and proper living as the church dictates? Thou shall not steal. thou shall not kill. thou shall not assault. Does it really have to mean: thou shall not enjoy orgasms on film? or thous shall not enjoy watching people on film feeling good, sexually. porn can be wholesome!! A porn set should be free of drugs!! Everybody should be HIV tested!! Everybody should be in agreement on the sex acts and the level of roughness. Otherwise, seems to me if you can meet those requirements, you can have sex on camera and still choose god in your life.

I liked Aria/Keri's interview. (And yes, I watched all 20-something clips). Did I agree with all her opinions? No. But I did appreciate that she's articulate and honest. It was very insightful.

if she wants to walk away from porn, fine, thats her opinion. Im just posing a question: why cant somebody be religious and still work in porn? sex on film is far from being evil.

There are people who perform sex on camera and still keep God in their life. Tiana Lynn has talked about her relationship with God. Randy Spears has been wearing that crucifix around his neck for 15+ years. I'm sure there are more and each of those individuals has reconciled their religious beliefs with their profession. Each has done it in their own way - picking what works for them morally. But I also bet for every person who does that, there are probably 25 atheists or agnostics.

If you're a traditional Christian, I think the conflict arises and has more to do with not practicing monogamy, sex without matrimony (fuck - sex without even friendship - sex with NO relationship at all) the performance of perverse sexual practices such as sodomy and homosexual acts. Things you're taught as a Christian not to do, much less have the sins recorded and mass distributed. lol Aria/Keri also touched on the whole matter of sex as a gift from god to be used as a means of emotional and spiritual connection between man and woman. Nobody wants that in their porno! So basically, perverting god's gift and using it in a defiled manner for profit.

Now you can believe all that or you can believe what you wrote. That sex is good and beautiful and joyful and should be celebrated. That God did give us a gift and meant for us to enjoy it. In fact, i think if this whole "sex is healthy and good" thing was practiced more (I'm thinking Nina Hartley's attitude, who is atheist btw), porn would be much better.

But a lot of porn consumers get off on the fact that a sexual act is wrong and perverse. Why else do you like double anal? It's traditionally wrong, right? Why else do people love seeing a girl get banged and multiple guys dumping their loads in her? It's dirty. These reactions support the christian church's morals by acknowledgement. They wouldn't exist if the morals didn't exist first.

I would be interested to learn more. What role if any does religion or spirituality play in a performer's life? Is lack of spirituality a contributing factor to burn out?

I'm done. And Aria did mention in her interview that she enjoyed the on-camera sex. Guess you missed that part. ;)

Keri, I saw an interview you did with VH1 a few years ago where you mentioned you liked singing and wanted to pursue that once you were done with the industry.

Are you doing that now?

Vincent: happy for you.

Aria's interview was ridiculous and the very definition of "judgmental" for the reasons already stated. Not to mention that Christ won't keep you warm when you're cold, but that's a different issue. I've never seen her performances, and now I never will. *shrug*

I can't speak for all porn stars but I can speak for myself. I would love to be in the adult business for two reasons:

1. I adore sexual imagery.
2. I would love getting paid for something I love.

I really don't see what is the problem.

Now let me address your second point, would I want to see my daughter in a max hardcore movie? Not really. I really don't want to see my daughter having sex with anyone. But I don't think my daughter having sex is bad. So I don't see your point.

P.S. I don't want to envision my parents having sex with one another. Does that make it a bad thing? Just food for thought.

I would like to also mention that you do not need to be a christian to be religious. The arguement can be easily mead thea God created sexuality to enjoy for its own sake.

Katja, I don't fucking get it. Why is pleasure a sin? Why is a passionate consuming a pleasure evil. Why do people need to use sex as a device to express love? That article is quite disturbing.

It is a retarded notion that porn is bad because you would not want to see your daughter or son in it. I don't want to see my daughter f*ck period. I don't care if it is the man of her dreams. I really don't see it as proof. Do you?

P.S. Katja, I would love for you to be on the hotlegs and feet website. I am surprsed Denny(its director) has not given you a call.

I guess you're right Jag, but I find it very odd that they would share this perspective in a forum where most of us don't only enjoy porn but morally support it as well.

I also take issue that porn watching leads to bestiality and pedophilia. I think there was a quote implying that. If it was incorrect, I greatly apologize.

They (Aria/Keri and Ford) didn't, actually; it was on Ford's website, and someone else posted it here.

I do not know what Aria has been through, except by reading her words. I do not know her heart, or if she is genuine in her regret, and her desire to move on. I cannot possibly know those things, becuase I don't know her personally.

What I do know is that had she not uttered the words "Christianity" and "religion" in her remarks, two-thirds of the people up her ass in this thread wouldn't have bothered even responding.

I'm nowhere near a bible-thumping church-goer, but the animus against Christianity these days simply astounds me. And it would amuse me - if it wasn't so regrettable - that everyone in general these days is SO for freedom of choice and diversity, except when it comes to thought. Heaven forbid (pun intended) that Aria choose a different path (and a religious path.....horrors!), or express a difference of opinion w the fans of the industry. Suddenly HER right to freedom of choice and HER differing point of view is not only called into question, it's derided. And believe me, most of the vitriol directed at her is emanating less for her "bashing" of the business than for her return to her church-rooted upbringing.

If I had left the industry, would I have gone as public with my concerns as Aria did? Probably not. Does it give me pause when I read of someone having gone from one end of the spectrum to another - as in pornstar to Christian or vice-versa? Sure it does. Is she sincere in her views? I have no idea.

I also have no idea if there's a heaven. But if I get there, I hope she's part of the company.

So, just like Keria, who is apparently able to read the minds of porn fans and other porn performers, you are able to read the minds of other ADT members? How wonderful.
Absolutely no one in this thread has made any statement questioning her right to hold any views she wants to hold, or to express those views.

If you choose to publicize your thoughts and opinions (such as, oh, I don't know, by talking to a journalist -- who is pointing a video camera at you), people will inevitably react and respond to your statements. If you make sweeping generalizations about people that you're in no real position to make, people may point out that you're doing that. If you make judgmental comments about people, while piously proclaiming that you're not being judgmental, people may point out that you're doing that. That's how the marketplace of ideas works.
