Feeding into a recent debate on the forum about where gonzo goes from here, I would appreciate other members' thoughts on whether gonzo could be made more erotic if there were some premise for the sex.

Gonzo has come to mean wall to wall sex, where the scene begins with the girl or guy walking into the room and the sex commencing.

A number of series begin each scene with a short interview of the girl, but the questions tend to be the ubiquitious, "At what age did you first have sex?", "How many movies have you made?", etc..

I recently bought Zero Tolerance's Wet Dreams Cum True 2, which attempts to represent common male fantasies by dressing the women up as cheerleaders, teachers, brides etc. Apart from the outfits however, it was the same basic gonzo formula of girl walks into room, strips, and then shags guy.

I would like to see a film based on the theme of male or female fantasies, but where a little more effort is made to build up the scenario and some thought is given to the casting.

Take the following scenario as an example.

The scene begins with a hen pecked husband getting nagged at by his domineering wife. She is complaining about the state of the house and gives him a list of tasks to do by the time she returns from her evening job at the local mall. All he wants to do is relax and watch the ball game after a hard day at the office.

His wife leaves, and shortly after there is a knock at the door. His son's girlfriend is at the door, all dressed up for a night on the town. Unfortunately, it seems that she didn't get the message from Junior that he had extra football practice after school and so he would be running about an hour late. I think Brianna Blaze would make an excellent girlfriend.

Brianna's dad has just dropped her off and it is raining and so she asks hubby if she can wait for her boyfriend indoors. Hubby is hesitant, but reluctantly agrees as she cannot be expected to stay outside.

Once inside she sits and watches the game and hubby goes into the kitchen. Brianna begins to flirt a little with Mr. Scott and comments on how good the men's butts look in those tight pants. Mr. Scott begins to sweat a little and cannot help but notice Brianna's tanned, smmoth legs as she relaxes on the sofa.

Brianna comes into the kitchen and begins by helping with the drying. She is very confident and flirty and begins to tell Mr. Scott about the problems her and Junior are having in the bedroom. It seems Junior has problems holding back and she really needs someone more experienced.

The scene then progresses to sex in the kitchen and the lounge with Brianna playing the dominant lead throughout.

Ok this may sound a little long winded but it would only take about 5 minuts to act out. The point is the scenario would allow a believable premise for the sex and would allow the Brianna character to play the dominant role

I think if gonzo is to move to the next level then it must not only try to deliver on a visual level, but also on a psychological level.

I've heard many critics of porn over the years say that, "When you've seen one porno, you've seen them all." And to some extent, I agree with them. If porn simply works on a purely visual level then there are only so many sex positions, locations, outfits, fetishes and ultimately girls and so the product, particularly gonzo, looks much the same.

Working on a psychological level the sex becomes believable, it becomes easier to relate to and so more real, more erotic for the viewer. It allows the participants to adopt a submissive or dominant role and so gives the sex a harder edge.

I'm not suggesting that gonzos become features, which anyway are still guilty of premiseless sex, merely that they try and push the viewers buttons a little more.

Like partners who use role play to spice up their sex life, I think Gonzo needs to be a little more subtle.
