With each director owning their own material, they are also risking their own time and money. The time they put into filming material for the one title/line is time away from filming/editing another that may do better. How many movies can an individual director do in a year and (hopefully) do well? Six? Twelve? So a single new line would be a significant percentage of their time and money.
This is why there is so much redundancy at RLD/PXP. They believe young/big tits/gangbang/anal/swallowing sells.

Honestly, my single release every month is my bread and butter. If I am personally not into something, I won`t be good at shooting that genre. There will be no passion for the production. Most of the directors at RLD and PX have built reputations for their own style of performing or shooting. They like what they do. Why mess with success and throw a curve ball at the fans which may or may not be well received.

This is somewhat like that thread where a guy said he has a new buisness model for porn companies, a revolutionary one. The problem, beyond the fact that that he had no other information to share, was that a person would have to change their organization, fucking with something that seems to work.
There might be a market for a well produced MILF title, but there is a market for the stuff they already make.

The only titles that come close to the quality of RLD/PXP for me in terms of milf porn is devils film; I have yet to see milfcruiser, milflesson, or the TTV/filmco stuff take it to the level of image quality that is in the devils titles; not to mention that the women are top notch and its shot in a gonzo/POV style that rarely is done right by the 'internet to dvd' titles such as milflessons.
