I just bought a Widescreen TV, now I need some widescreen (16x9 format porn movies). Anyone know any decent titles out there in the widescreen format? I tried various types of searches with no results.

Right now the only adult titles that I know about that are produced in anamorphic widescreen are the recent titles from Andrew Blake. I can't tell you when he becan doing 16:9 titles, but I know that his last few (Girlfriends that came out last week and definitely the one befor that), are anamorphic.

Several of Adam & Eve's recent and upcoming releases have been anamorphic. Sadly, I can't think of what they all are, but if you do a text search in the reviews for "anamorphic" or "widescreen", I normally state in the review under the Audio / Video Quality whether a feature was anamorphic widescreen or matted widescreen.

I would normally leave this alone, but since you indicated that you are using this terminology in your reviews, I figured that I would chime in.

"Anamorphic" and "Matted" are different widescreen methodologies on film, not on DVD. A movie that was initially matted on film can be anamorphic on DVD and a movie that was originally anamorphic on film can be non-anamorphic on DVD.

When describing DVD, you would be more correct using the phrases "Anamorphic" (or "Enhanced for 16:9 TV's") and "Non-anamorphic".

However, if you are describing the methodology that the producer of the DVD used to create a widescreen image, "matted" would be the correct terminology to describe the elimination of the top and bottom of a 4:3 picture to create the impression of a widescreen picture.

Thanks Bill, and in that case, oops. I'll remember that in future reviews, and if I have time, go back and change a few. I always thought that matted was the non-anamorphic, where the widescreen picture was "matted" onto a full screen size, and hence the black bars. I think I used both non-anamorphic and matted in my reviews, but it's been a while since I reviewed one of those so I'm honestly not sure. Whenever it is a non-anamorphic feature, however, I do include a comment thanking the studio for using the widescreen format, but urging them to take their support all the way to anamorphic for all those who have widescreen TVs.

Thought it's been mentioned before, the recent Studio A titles, EXHIBITIONISTS and BLOND & BRUNETTES are in true anamorphic widescreen. Andrew Blake also has some High Definition transfers ready for High Defintition DVD (once the format is released).
