I've read a few times the Jill Kelly Productions (or whatever it's called) bounces checks
and is on the verge of folding. I hope so. Gotta get
Jenna Haze outta there. She's
still got like 6 months on her contract and a five year option (them or her?) after that. I want her to make good
money and come out of the porn experience okay but she'll
never do anything great just doing scenes for that no dp, no swallowing lame-ass company. Gotta see her with other companies. Any chance of seeing her get away (for our sake)? Any real chance they'll
fold?

Wanting for a company to fold up is BAD. It causes unemployment and other evils. I can´t stand the guy who runs the brazilian branch of Evil Angel, but I don´t want his company to fold cause I know he employs a lot of people with decent salaries.

I wouldn't wish any business to fold, because as Planet said, a lot of jobs would be lost.

While I will never watch a JKP production, I'm sure that they have quite a following, and that would suck for fans of JKP.

But on the other hand, it might be nice to get back Jenna Haze and Shyla.

I don't know about that. But I can tell you that one of the large distributors in my area is dropping the JKP line because they are having lots of problems with the company that JKP is using to distribute and bill for product.

I don't know how widespread the problem is, but this distributor carries pretty much every other line out there. In order for him to drop them, he has to be having some pretty major problems.

I wouldn't wish economic hardship on anyone....even companies I don't buy stuff from. Too many people get hurt obviously....and my only problem with JKP titles is they seemed very watered down (even for couples) and the girls performing always have that overdone "glam" eye-makeup caked on. I barely recognized Jenna on the boxcover of one!
Is that true? Even the superstars don't stay that long on one company! 5 years seems outrageous longevity in an industry where the typical performer has anywhere from 3 months to a year before leaving.

I hope that didnt sound like prison sentencing.

In a free market like ours, it is perfectly normal for companies to fold up (voluntary or involuntary). That's a sign that the market is becoming more efficient. Although a company closing can cause temporary displacement of workers, in the long run it is better off as the workers will move on to companies are responding better to the invisible hand.

Snowman is right! If JKP isn't putting out a procuct that can compete with the other commapnies, than they should fold. It is a healthy thing for the market. Look at the industry that xxx dvds and videos have become. It is bigger than major league baseball, the NFL, and the NBA combined. There are obviously plenty of people out there that are willing to throw down there 20-25 bucks on a good porno. If nobody wants to buy JKP and everybody wants Evil Angel, Anabolic, Red Light Dist, and Vivid, then who's fault is it. Somebody else might come along and do a better job.

Not to mention we would get Jenna Haze back.

JKP is owned by a female and I would like to see Jill succeed. However, I do find the few JKP releases I have seen to be boring.

I sure do want Shyla and Jenna back doing nasty acts. Of course, Shyla no longer did anals and gonzo before her move to JKP so having a squeeky clean Shyla back is not necessarily a big plus. I want the old Shyla back doing double and triple everythings including triple vag and triple anal. Jenna is hot and is wasted with JKP. She can probably earn more without a contract.

I do not wish for JK to fold, nor do I wish that they don't. Let supply & demand dictate the doctrine of our laissez faire economy. I personally do not buy JK titles. This is my way of influencing the marketplace.

I do, however, wish that Jenna would get back together with Jules!

Oh, puh-leaze!!! This is a long dispelled myth. The porn industry is fucking big, but not as big as people like to think it is. Remember all that bullshit about Jenna saying she´s worth 10 million dollars? So there.

I hate to burst all of your bubbles but Jenna Haze has gone to all girl performances. She has found herself a guy and she has given up her boy girl scenes. So it really doesn't matter if she is under JKP or not. And while JKP might not be one of the best quality video companies they do have anal, dp's and cum swallowing. You have to remember these girls aren't forced to sign contracts with studios such as JKP, Vivid, Sin City etc. These girls do this for their own personal reason. Primarily, they get paid more and have to perform less. They usually work at their own schedule, and get to choose the performers they work with, and how their scene unfolds sexually. Remember most of these girls are in this buisness for money. True, most have a high sex drive, and some seek the fame that comes with being in the industry. But their most motivating factor is the MONEY.
So, putting down a JKP or likewise for signing a Jenna or Shyla ridiculous. You should put your personal blame on the performer, she is the one who has decided what is right for her.

Planet, I didn't come up with the figures. That is what ive read in some reliable publications. I think the point is that a company has to make a product that people want to buy. If JKP can't do that they will go out of business. It doesn't matter if it's run by a woman, an alien, or a dog. The size of the industry doesn't really matter. The point really is that the strong survive.

Didn't anyone see the writing on the wall when their VP of Sales and Marketing left not too long ago?

JKP has had many high-caliber performers sign exclusive contracts with them and then within a few months we learn that they have parted ways. When this kind of thing happens once you can assume it was just a fluke. When it happens 4 or five times in a span of six months you have to wonder what's going on there.

If by "realiable publication" you mean AVN, know then that THEY made this myth up. AVN is full of shit.

Or on Ana/Dia/RLD/EA: IF they would propose their nasty stars good contracts those girls would stay raincoater-friendly, just for the MONEY.

Actually, JKP is owned by a man with Jill as a partner. The guy just married their new contract performer. I stopped reviewing their stuff when they sent me some hate mail about a review (not to mention how they tried to charge me three times for an order I placed with them).

Yea I hope JKP does go under & fold. Jenna needs to do some better stuff, the JKP dvds she is in are horrible.

HoustonDon,

In some of the Jim Holliday movies when he and Jill Kelly did the cameo appearances between each scene, they used to spout a 'running joke'.

That's their attitude in a nutshell.

DD, I think much of Jim's wrath towards reviewers stems from how harshly they've treated his movies in the past. I consistently like his movies for what they are-not what some reviewers want them to be-and I somehow think his attitude towards a couple of reviewers in particular might be a bit less angry.

Keeping in mind that he generally writes the scripts of his movies, I don't think it applies much to JKP material-which is run by a guy who apparently doesn't want reviewers to look too closely for obvious reasons. I'm as plot porn friendly a reviewer as you'll ever find and many of JKP dvds seem like they are made up as they go along. I'm also optimistic enough to think that if they had kept Jeff Krull or hired someone else with some business smarts, we wouldn't be having this conversation...

Fair enough HD.

I put my comment in because I felt that if Jim Holliday and Jill Kelly said that in their cameos, then the vitriolic responses from JKP could have been just a carry over.
