If God is merciful. I f'n can't stand these things. I totally agree and think that most Euro girls get it right. The strappy thin bottomed heels they tend to wear look much more elegant and sexy.
I don't HATE platforms as strongly as others in this thread, but agree that they are overused. There are plenty of "normal" sexy high heel styles available without having to always resort to the stripper shoes.
Anyone who has a foot/shoe fetish at all probably dislikes them, because when they are worn, the attention becomes the ridiculous amount shoe. The other type has the qualities I mentioned above, but in addition it also shows the foot off better which can only be a good thing (unless someone has ugly feet).
I often find them distracting, particularly when the girl is obviously hindered by her shoes. Granted, most have a lot of practice walking (or dancing) in them, but they look awkward when trying to change positions on a bed, or when trying to remove panties. I was watching an otherwise hot scene the other day, and lost the fantasy when the girl's shoe almost clunked the guy in the head.

That an exaggeration. I like seeing heels in my porn, and they're not nearly as pervasive as the platform-haters claim. Some girls always wear them. Some girls never wear them. Some directors always have them. Some directors never have them. Some dvd themes don't require them. Even the scenes which start out with platforms usually ditch them somewhere along the way. Picking any random scene in any random video will have less than a 25% chance of having platform heels, if you are honest about the randomness. If you are truly finding platforms "everywhere", try looking at the boxcovers. If there are no platforms pictured on the boxcover, there will be none in the dvd.
I think they're humorous. I know as a woman who has "Kept her shoes on" most of the time I can only imagine how much of an obstacle they would be. Even for a man the impediments would be similar. These huge, bulky, heavy things in the way every time either one of you moved. Oh, any if you swing your leg quickly I can only imagine the potential for injury. I always had said I have to put myself in the scene in some form to get turned on and these get me laughing so hard I get turned off.
I for one like heels in porn, no matter whether platforms or thin bottomed. To me they emphasize the sexyness of the body and of the legs in particular, and part of their appeal is that you wouldn't expect these kind of "porn heels" in everyday life. Give me Gucci snakeskin stilletos any day of the week! Heels do accentuate a woman's leg and that is nice to see. These girls are generally not very tall anyway. I don't mind barefoot.
