I was wondering if anyone uses Windows 8? If so, are there any positive or negative feedback about it?

It works very well. The interface is somewhat different from previous iterations of Windows, so it's a good idea to read a little bit about it and maybe print yourself a cheatsheet before you install it or buy a new machine that runs it. Version 8.1 is apparently about to be released, which will have some changes to mollify the people who whined about how it doesn't have a start button and doesn't look/feel exactly like their Windows XP that they're still clinging to.

I am still running Windows 7, but from what friends have told me who have updated to Windows 8, it is great for tablet like devices but the current interface stinks for non-touch screen mouse driven computers.

I'm one of the people who hate the UI, but it can be modded. With that out of the way it performs very well functionally.

Win8 was made for mobile devices and shoehorned into next version for Windows (after 7) for desktops/laptops. Think about it. What is faster and less painful (even if you have a touch screen) for a desktop, a mouse click taking less than a second or touching icons on your monitor? Which is more comfortable, faster/efficient, and less-messy?

I'm thankful for the info from everybody! I have a desktop computer, so it sounds like Windows 8 wouldn't work well on my computer. Hopefully, Windows 8.1 will be better.
