1)From the desktop go to My Computer
2)Then click on View System Information, it is located on the left side of the screen under the System Tasks tab.
3)If you do it correctly then System Properties will pop out
4) Click on Advanced tab
5) Press on Settings button, it is located under the Startup and Recovery section
6)Under System Failure section uncheck the Automatically Restart, and press OK.

If you did everything corectly then it should work, it did for me.
