The numb-nuts directors and studios who put out those pornos are kidding themselves or just plain harebrained if they think that half the stuff in there is erotic for the ladies. I mean, come on, lesbian dildo action? Sure, there are exceptions, but few guys are married to one. Better couples fare is found in the likes of the cable series "Emanuelle." Now if you combined their production values with some more hardcore, it would rule the porn world, at least the couples market. Maybe a little research into what ladies want to see or could tolerate (or that wasn't a huge turn-OFF) would help. [Link]

They aren't popular because they are "couples" films, they are popular because they have better promotion and the girls are usually hotter, although I think they just have more makeup thrown on them.
