Question for people in the industry, or in the know. I've noticed an increasing number of popular female talent doing scenes with Gay crossover talent, who have obviously done gay porn, but also worked with trannies, etc... is this frowned upon? or just another genre that is par for the course these days? It seems whenever there is an HIV outbreak, theres always a few articles talking about how X male performer has worked in gay porn, or X male performer has done trannies, with the negative connotation being that that is more dangerous and risky. That said, I was surprised to see the recent Joey Silvera Strap Attack release, with the hottest porn star around these days Maddy O'Reilly with Wolf Hudson. I love Maddy and her ascent to Slutwoman, and being open to anything is amazing to me, but must say it took me aback when I saw her getting fucked by Wolf without a condom (dont beleve it was anal). My guess is that this is now par for the course these days, but wanted to ask if the negative connotation associated with gay crossover talent still existed.

Isn't Christian X basically blacklisted for doing tranny porn?
ChristianXXX is in the same Silvera Strap Attack 18 movie. He fucks Kagney (vag only)

What is "mainstream" now though? Gays aren't exactly in hiding anywhere in film, television or broadcasting. I mean I don't think anyone deems Anderson Cooper as a niche broadcaster because he's gay. The same I would suggest now goes for porn. Why should any porn actor be pegged (pardon the pun) for exclusively "gay" or straight" porn? Nowadays you get all kinds of stuff ticketed for heterosexuals that in the past was labeled as "gay" porn. You have female viewers who get off on watching sex between two men. Does that make it "gay" porn? It's all just sex being performed by people who have mortgages to pay. And don't forget that times are tough. So maybe a male porn actor has to suck a couple of cocks each week to pay the bills. That's a hundred cocks each year, but where do you draw the line on whether that actor is "gay" or "straight" if he's also having sex with women at the same time and if the porn he's making is being viewed by a substantial number of women? The term "mainstream" is passé. Edited by - Blue Agave on 4/21/2014 1:57:58 PM

+1 I've been asking this question for a while. How can you judge the sexual orientation of a text? The amount of gymnastics people perform trying to separate out "the gay" from their personal proclivities is amusing, however. Regarding the OP, yes it is still stigmatized to a degree, mostly due to homophobia.
Yeah makes sense, but I think the difference between porn and your Anderson Cooper example, is that gay and straight porn has traditionally been separated, and still pretty much is, except for the crossovers. Whether factually and medically correct, the Gay porn industry is seen as more risky when it comes to HIV, so thats why I was wondering if that is been deemed a myth and people are willing to work with crossover talent...or talent is just willing to take the risk...or if its still frowned upon

And what happens when homosexuals are the majority? Do they then become "mainstream?" According to Gallup, homosexuality in the U.S. is on the rise. And before anyone scoffs, note that there is an apparent inverse correlation between wealth and homosexuality. So, if you accept that our middle class is shrinking, then you implicitly accept that homosexuality is likely to become more prevalent, at least in the United States: http://patriotupdate.com/articles/gallup-poll-suggests-growth-of-homosexuality/ http://www.gallup.com/poll/158066/special-report-adults-identify-lgbt.aspx Edited by - Blue Agave on 4/21/2014 2:17:46 PM
There are some who will not work with "bi" or performers who work with transsexuals . Christian has 25 straight appearances this year on iafd , with only 7 transsexual titles , not including web sites . Wolf has ten iafd listings , with only one t/s performance . I think the reality is so many of the male talent have rumors as to liking trans or men , that it might be better to work with someone honest about it .
I wish we had a like button here that I could click for this post. I am straight and male but don't think just because someone performs in "gay" porn that he should not also perform in hetero porn if he can get his dick up for it. Unfortunately we have to label porn because 95% of men (myself included) cannot stand to watch a guy fuck another guy (whether it be blow job or anal penetration) and puke at the sight of it but I don't see the problem with a guy performing in both genres if he is capable. This includes Christian XXX and Wolf Hudson (granted, Wolf mainly if not exclusively performs for Kink nowadays). However, I do think "gay" studios should test for VD rather than depend on condoms for VD control (I think condoms should be the choice of the performers and not mandated) and performers serosorted by HIV status (poz performers perform with other poz performers and negative performers perform with other negative performers). Also, if an HIV negative guy is taking confirmed multiple HIV positive dicks up the ass like at a line of movies produced by Treasure Island Media (neither Christian XXX nor Wolf Hudson work for them to my knowledge) I would think twice about hiring that person for a hetero role (where serosorting is not viable) due to VD concerns but that is the exception and not the rule.

He was doing gay and tranny porn for a long while. Some females stopped working with him, but many didn't care. Matter of fact he dated P Marie throughout that period. Personally I think you need to pick a side of the fence and stick to it. I remember Kristina rose talking about how sick she was on set one day when male talent couldn't stay hard, then his Gay boyfriend showed up and he banged the shit out of her while having his eyes fixed on him. Makes no sense to me, my guess is lot's of attractive men with decent size cocks are in line to fuck female talent, but they still cast twinks to do straight porn, if you ask me, that why the industry is so anal heavy, they guys have to see or be in ass to stay hard. Don't get me wrong, I am an anal junkie, but I'd rather watch a real hetero ass hound bang these broads.
Well...as someone who watches straight AND tranny AND gay porn....it does bother me a bit, in these ways: When it comes to gay porn I only like twinks and I want to see twinks bottoming and bigger/older guys topping and I want to tops to STRICTLY TOP. I don't want to see a 40 year old guy with a shaved head and goatee sucking dick. Ugh. Now there's not that much older/twink stuff out there vs twink on twink, but even that has problems in that half the time the guy I want to see as the bottom turns out to top, and that's just a waste of my time. Tranny porn is worse in that half the time the guy get's fucked by the tranny, and they're rarely cute twinks. I want to see the tranny treated like a girl and fucked as if it's a straight scene. The only place I see where the trannies almost exclusively bottom is Trans500. They do good work and the two main tops have some of the biggest dicks in porn(gay or straight) so that's a nice bonus. That's also a problem in twink porn, the guys fucking aren't as big as their straight counterparts. Then you start to realize why size matters, at least on video. It's much easier to see a 9" dick going in/out vs a 6" in the same position and camera angle. Then there's the machismo factor. It's much easier to consider a man a MAN if he only tops and fucks a twink or tranny like their women. I can watch a scene with Danny D or Omar Galanti anytime. I can't say the same for Christian or even Peter North. About 10 years ago I came across one of North's early gay scenes, and he was bottoming....it ruined me for all his scenes since then. I can't watch him anymore. I think, more than the disease risk, the last paragraph I mention is what bothers most people, including most straight women. I guarantee you that most straight women who support gay rights, would be seriously bothered if their boyfriends or husbands had sucked dick or bottomed, by a shocking percentage.
I don't have anything against gay people. However it's kinda risky considering that gay male performers stand a much bigger risk from contracting hiv, especially from bottoming anal sex and then the risk of spreading the infection onto female and tranny performers that risk spreading it to other performers working with just straight porn.

Not that it needs to be said, but I have no issue with Gay people either. I just like to watch people enjoying themselves. To me a hole isn't a hole and if talent isn't attracted to each other doesn't matter gay, straight, black or white,Ii don't want to see people fake it.
