I bought 2 DVD's from www.dvdadvantage.com.

Pros: Product was delivered to my house in a timely manner.

Cons: I got spammed by them. During registration, I checked the box that offered, "Do not send me product information". Well, the next day I got an email advertisement from them. I sent the company an email and NICELY ask them to remove me from the mailing list. The next day, I got another spam from them. I sent them another email, but this time I was not nice, but I wasn't rude either. For two weeks, I received not one spam. However, after the two week period, I began receiving spam again.

I understand the porn industry wants to spam. I have along ago accepted that. But I often thought "name brand" companies would be more honorable and show better respect to genuine customers. The only reason why I bought through DVD Advantage was because of their listing at Adult DVD Talk.

I was under the impression that their emails had removal instructions at the bottom. I know I received one of their direct mailings to an email account that I used to place a test order. I followed the removal instructions and don't think that I've ever received another email from them to that address.

Hoever, if you feel that you are not receiving an acceptable response I suggest that you turn them over to Spam Cop or any of the other anti-spam blacklisting services.

Not all the porn industry wants to spam. Many of us work hard to prevent that. I will not accept it and certainly not from one of the stores we represent.

Has anyone else had this problem?

cb,

Welcome to the Forum.

steph,

My spam comes into an email address different than the one I have posted at ADT.

I have received some mail from dvdadvantage and another retailer, but for those two retailers I did not check the box to say "Do not send me product information".

I do receive messages from the two retailers and have not tried to stop them yet. However, the traffic from them is a lot less than the other spam messages I get for penis enlargement and other stuff. Also, the messages from them does tend to be more product information and offers from the retailer rather than just pure 'spam'.

DVD Advantages email policy is a very simple one. We make every effort to remove customers from our email lists that wish to be removed.

We offer several ways to be removed from our email lists. The primary method is to follow the directions at the bottom of every email we send. This method is automatic and permanent. (If the instructions were not followed correctly you would continue to receive emails.)

We can also be reached via our toll free number (877-707-5662) to request your email address be removed from our lists. Or sent an email to me directly at jon@dvd88.com

We recently had a SQL server crash which caused a loss of customer's email preferences. (We lost our email profile table) However our permanent remove file is in tact.

Let's face it; if you don't want our emails, and you still keep getting them, you will stop buying from us.
